STANDING AROUND THE WOODS, the group waited for Chris to start teaching or do something to break the silence.

"When was the last time you saw your sister?" Chris asked and Derek immediately responded. "Nine years. I thought she died in the fire." Derek told them. "Do you feel like you have a lock on her scent?" Chris asked and Derek shook his head no. Chris turned to Scott. "Scott, how confident are you in your skills?" Chris asked him and Scott looked at him.

"Honestly, most of the time I'm trying not to think about all the things I can smell." Scott said before a phone went off. Scott looked at the phone in his hand but it wasn't his. Scott realised he had Maddie's phone with him and took it out, the white wolf shifting back to human making Chris and Derek look away and Scott look up at Maddie's face. Derek once again, spun Isaac around before Maddie looked at the caller ID. small good puppy, it read and Maddie sighed.

"You have the worst timing Hero Hair." Maddie sighs and Stefan chuckled sadly. "Uh oh. I know that laugh, that's the "I wanna laugh but someone just died" laugh. What happened?" Maddie asked seriously.

"Tyler's mom died. Klaus killed her, and Tyler wants you, Jeremy and Care to be here." Stefan said and Maddie froze. Scott watched her carefully as she brought her hand to her mouth. "No. No, please tell me you're joking. This isn't funny Stefan. If this is some sick joke tell me now." Maddie told the boy on the phone but he just sighed.

"I'm sorry Maddie. Hey, do you know a Lydia Martin?" Stefan asked and Maddie wiped the few stray tears from her face. "Yep, I know Lydia." Maddie said confused. "Her mother, Natalie Martin, was Carol's twin sister. So-" Maddie cut him off. "So Lydia and Ty are cousins." Maddie said shocked.

"Yeah. I need you to go and get them, bring them down here. Oh and at least try to be sympathetic." Stefan said and Maddie sighed. "I'm on it. Hey, do you know what's up with Jeremy? He's always looking like he wants to kill Care, but he's still nice to her. Like he's trying to fight something." Maddie hummed and Stefan sighed.

"That's because he's a hunter." Stefan said and Maddie went wide eyed. "Please tell me he's not one of the five. I will sue Elena if you tell me he's one of the five, in fact, I'll put a restraining order on her from him." Maddie sneered and Stefan sighed.

"We'll talk about this later." Stefan told her before hanging up. Maddie turned to Chris and the three werewolves with an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, but Ty is family and he needs me." Maddie said with a stiffle and they nodded. "We got this, you go." Scott said and Isaac gave her a sad smile.

"I'll be back in a few days, keep me updated please?" Maddie told them before taking off to her house.
