Missing You

It's been two weeks since I've last spoken to Johnny. I still see him in class and stuff but all of the seats got switched around again and I don't sit near Johnny. After that night with Brandon we decided to take a little break. We didn't break up but we aren't acting like boyfriend and girlfriend right now. I guess Johnny talked to Mrs. Hopper about the tutoring thing because she told me that I had a new tutor. I declined the offer and decided to just make school a priority again. When I got my test back today I beamed when I saw my grade, B+.  I was so excited and I showed Brynn and Jacob. They congratulated me and we all talked about the test. At some point I looked up and I saw Johnny laughing and talking to his friends. A wave of emotions passed over me. Sadness, happiness, guilt. Sad that I haven't talked to him, happy that he's happy, and guilt because of what I did. Just then he looked up too and we made eye contact. I smiled at him and he waved with a smile before turning back to his friends. BANG! I was shot with Johnny's love gun. Obviously not really, he doesn't have a love gun,  but anytime we had any contact my feelings for him rushed back in an instant. The bell rang and we were off to art.

After the eight period bell rang, I ran to my locker and met up with the gang. Everyone except Brandon. I had a certain dislike for Brandon. Even though we're on a break, he still slaps my ass and kisses me even though I tell him to stop. I was telling the group about it as we left school and walked to our cars. I glanced over to the right and saw Johnny and his friends laughing and talking over by Johnny's car. I sighed and turned my head back to the conversation. “Just break up with him Kenz.” Jacob said. “Yeah. We never liked him anyway.” Brynn said with a hint of disgust. The whole group nodded. “I think you guys might be right. I'll have to think about it. Do you guys wanna go to the movies then dinner?” I asked. Instantly the mood was brighter as everyone agreed and we all started talking about different movies to see and different restaurants we could eat at.

After the movie marathon we had, we went to a restaurant nearby. It was pretty fancy but still casual. We were all talking and laughing in a booth. The waiter had already brought our drinks and appetizers, we were just waiting on our dinner. I looked up at some point and what I saw shocked me. Johnny and Ashley were there and his arm was wrapped around her waist. They were talking to the host and then they were taken to a table that was in my view. They're not dating right? They're just friends out for dinner. Yeah, yeah, just friends. I tried to reassure myself. “You good Mack?” Ruby asked and I nodded. “You look like you've seen a ghost,” Joey joked and everyone laughed. I tried to hold the conversation with my friends but I kept staring at Johnny and Ashley They were laughing and talking like friends so I hoped that they were just there as friends.

Our food came and we all dug in and I temporarily forgot about Johnny and Ashley

When we were all done with dessert Johnny and Ashley were getting up to leave. They put their coats on and grabbed each other's hand before starting to walk away. I almost lost my dinner. “Hey guys I gotta use the restroom,” I told my friends as an excuse to watch them go to their car. “okay,” they all said. I walked to the front of the restaurant and when I got there I wished I hadn't. Through the window I saw Johnny open the passenger side door for Ashley and before she got in her and Johnny shared a kiss. Tears were welling up in my eyes so I ran to the bathroom and locked myself in a stall. I sat down and cried for a few minutes before I cleaned myself up and went back out to the table with my friends. We left soon after and decided to go to Brynns house to binge netflix and eat popcorn and candy. We all agreed and went to our houses to get clothes and necessities before heading over to Brynn's. When I walked into my house my mom was sitting at the kitchen counter sipping a tea cup.(hehehe. Sipping the tea.)
She smiled when she saw me and walked over to give me a hug. “Hey mom,” I said as I hugged her back. “I'm going to spend the night at Brynn's. Is that okay?” “Of course honey, today is Sunday though so make sure to get to school tomorrow okay?” “Yes, thank you mom!” I cheered and hugged her once more before I ran to my room and packed sleep clothes and school clothes. I ran down the stairs ten minutes later, kissed my mom and Maddie goodbye then drove over to Brynns house.
