I got in my truck and headed home. It wasn't just any home but it was our home. Where my two little munchkins will grow up where Scotty and I will grow old together. I never thought my life would end up like this. I would have never imagined I would marry someone and have two beautiful kids on the way. Have a beautiful house to go home to every night. My life is honestly amazing I couldn't ask for anything more. I was off in a day dream when all I could see were lights came flying at me. I couldn't breath my windshield was shattered blood dripping down my face. I could here people yelling in the distance but I couldn't understand them. That's when everything went black.....
My whole body went numb. After what felt like forever I saw a bright light. Was it the bright light? Is it the light that everyone talks about? It couldn't be. Could it? I can't be dead. I was just on my way home. I'm finally happy with my life. I have Scotty and the babies. Wait my babies are they ok? I can't feel anything I can't feel them inside me anymore. What if.... no I can't go there. I can't think like that everything will be ok I'm ok they're ok everything will be ok.
Scotty's POV
I waited as Summer pulled out of the driveway before I got into my truck and pulled away. I sat in the Bojangles drive-through line my stomachs as in knots but why? I had a bad feeling about tonight I don't know what about but it was there. "Sir!! Hey sir!!!" The lady at the window yelled "oh I'm so sorry I don't know where my minds at tonight." I grabbed my bag of food and gave her one last smile before pulling away. I blasted the radio as I drove back to the house. About 10 minutes out I hit traffic. Huh it's kinda late out here for this many people to be out I guess they're out here working on the roads. I turned the seat warmers on so the food would still be warm when I got to the house then sent a quick text to Summer.

"Man I've been here for a while without moving this is getting ridiculous." I thinking to my self right before 3 ambulances came flying past going the opposite direction. That knot that's been in my stomach just got ten times worse. I continued to sit in that long line of traffic for another 15 minutes until finally we started to move. About a mile up the rode I could see a huge accident it looked like a couple vehicles collided into each other it looks pretty bad. As I got closer on of the trucks looked exactly like Summers.. but there's no way. She's home by now right? I called her phone but it went straight to voicemail. So I called again "hey baby answer your phone please." The closer I got the more the truck looked like hers. My phone fell to the floorboard of the truck as I pulled up to the accident. I have to stop I have to make sure it wasn't her. I pulled over to the side of the road and was immediately approached by a sheriff "sir I'm going to need you to get back into your vehicle" he said shining his flashlight into my eyes. "I can't" I Mumbled "what was that your gonna have to speak up son" "I think that's my Fiancé's truck." He grabbed me by the arm and pulled my further off the road. "Is there anything in the truck that you would recognize" "y... yea..." I stuttered. "She had some suite cases in the back seat were moving to our new house today.... and all of or insurance papers are in the glove box". "Ok son just a moment go ahead and have a seat on the ground and I'll check." I sat down where I was standing and put my head into my hands. "Please god please don't let her be hurt". Before I knew it he was squatting beside me. "Is her name Summer Rivers" I lost it completely I just couldn't. "Come on I'll drive you to the hospital" he helped me up and into his squad car. "D..do... you... do you know how she is? She pregnant. Is she going to be ok?" " I honestly can't tell you when I got here they were pulling her out of the car and I didn't see much but I can tell you she's in the best hands possible and they are going to do everything possible for her."
As soon as he stopped the car infront of the emergency room doors a ran. "Summer rivers where is she!!" "Excuse me?" The young man at the counter looked at me like I was completely crazy. "Summer rivers she was brought in here not to long ago she's my fiancé she's pregnant." "Yes sir I have her here in the system and it shows she's on her way up to surgery" he said typing into the system. "How is she. Will she be ok". " I'm not sure sir a doctor will be out when they have any news.
Summer's POV
I can see some one in a white robe walking towards me. "Is this it. Am I dying" "haha why would you say that" "your god aren't you?" "Yes yes I am but no your not dying. Well not today atleast"
" Summer hunny stay with us" I could barely hear the voices say. Everything went black again. I don't know what's going on but I want it to end.
Scotty POV
"Family of Sumer Rivers" a doctor yelled from a hallway. I jumped up and ran over to him. "I'm her fiancé how is she" "we have her in a medically induced coma for the time being she suffered a lot of major injuries so this well give her body the rest it needs to heal. We managed to deliver both of your babies and they are both health and in the NICU being monitored, but you more than welcome to go see either of them Summer is in room 413 down the hall and the babies are up on the 6th floor in pediatrics wing of the hospital." "Thank you so much doctor" I said before sprinting down the hall to Summers room. Once I got there I saw her body all life less bruises everywhere her arm and leg were in casts she had a brace around her neck. Man did she look ruff. I pulled a chair up to the side of her bed and grabbed her hand. "Summer I love you so much I know you can make it threw this I need you our beautiful babies need you." I slight knock on the door drew me out of my train of thought. "Oh I'm sorry Mr. Rivers is there anything I can do for you" "oh we're not married... yet. But is there a phone I can borrow I need to call out family" "oh I'm sorry Sir. Let me grab one for you real quick" she brought in one of those old land line phones and plugged it into the table next to me. I held my breath for a moment while I dialed moms number. " hello" a sleepy voice said into the phone. " Mom it's Scotty I need you to listen to me and not freak out". "Scotty what's wrong where are you" "Summer was in an accident on the way home we're at the hospital she's in bad shape." "We're on our way we'll be their shortly" "ok but please be safe" with that the line went dead. I laid my head down in the bed.
30 minutes later
Mom Dad and Ashley all cane running threw the door. "What's going on is she ok" Ashley asked wrapping me in a hug. I lost it completely I broke down in tears. "They... they put her in a medically induced coma so her body could heal but they don't know how long it will be until she can wake up." Wait.....what about Dakota and Brantley" Mom asked hesitantly. "Their up in the NICU I haven't been up to see them yet" " if you want to go me and your dad will stay here" Ashley and I walked out of the room and up to the elevator. I pressed the button to the 6th floor. "She's strong she's going to make it threw this you just gotta be strong for her right now". "I know but I'm just scared for her right now" Once the elevator stopped I walked up to the window. "Wow their so cute Ashley said with a big smile." "Y'all can go in just put these on first" a nurse said from behind us. We grabbed the gowns she was holding and followed her into the room. I picked up Dakota and Ashley got Brantley. "Little bro y'all did a good job with these two" Ashley laughed. After about an hour we headed back down stairs. The nurse set up some cots in the room so we could rest a little after the traumatic day we've been threw.
