I was awoken to a pie being thrown into my face. "HAPPY 14TH LIZ" Carl and Glenn screamed. "OH YOU'RE AS DEAD AS THE WALKERS" I screeched at him as he bolted out of the room, laughing. I glared at Glenn, who pointed in the direction Carl went, mouthing "his idea" I rolled my eyes and went over to Glenn, taking his shirt and wiping my face with it. "But you were involved" I smirked at him, while he stood there with pie all over his shirt.
I glanced out the window and saw Carl looking around cautiously. This will be fun. I thought to myself, opening the back door very carefully. I saw Daryl talking to Rick and Carl, obviously being worried I'd get him was hiding behind Rick.
I sneakily made my way over behind Daryl, surprisingly not being spotted by any of the three. Looking behind Rick I noticed Carl, glancing in the other direction. I smirked to nyself, and made my way over to him standing behind him, waiting to for him to notice me.
A few minutes later, he was still scanning the area, I rolled my eyes. Did he know I was behind him waiting for him to turn around? Or was he so obliviously stupid he won't turn around? I cleared my throat and he slowly made his body face me. With obvious fear in his eyes, he ran in the direction of me. Idiot. I grabbed him and wiped the remaining of the pie that I didn't wipe on Glenn on Carl, with a wide smirk on my face, I made my way back to the house.
"Happy Birthday Squirt" Daryl's familiar southern accent rang through the room. I muttered a thanks, running upstairs, quickly knocking on her door. "Uh, um one ah!" Beth stuttered from the other side. Confused, slightly worried, I opened her door, horrified what I saw.
"Beth!" I grabbed her and made her look me in the eyes. "What the hell is this?" I asked her, glancing down at her wrists that had cuts on them, but one was really deep. "I'm Sorry! Just with Jimmy and Patricia and the whole world going go shit I just didn't know what to do!" She sobbed into my arms. "Please don't tell me daddy" She sobbed, I sighed ans agreed. "Beth, I have to" Was the only thing I said before calling Maggie up here.
"What is it?" Her country accent asked obviously concerned. "Close and lock the door" I barked at her. She did as I said, and gave me a "tell me whats going on look" I motioned her to sit down on the bed with me. I told her what was happening, and how Beth was cleaning it up as we speak. "Well, is it deep to the point where she needs stitches?" Maggie asked, hoping the answer was no. "That's why I called you up here, she made me promise not to tell her dad, as long as she didn't do it again and I can't tell how deep it would be for stitches so I assumed you knew" I told her, she nodded slightly and went to knock on the bathroom door.
"Happy Birthday by the way" I nodded, which she got as a thank you. "Beth, open up, I'm not mad I promise" Maggie called to her hoping she would answer. We heard a click, signaling that Beth unlocked the door. Maggie and I looked at each other and went inside. She examined her cut and nodded to herself. "Well, it's definitely deep. It's on the verge of needed stitches and not needing stitches so I say we do them just in case" She explained after a while of looking at the wrist. "What? No! It's not that serious, I don't want daddy involved!" Beth cried out. I walked over giving her a hug "Listen, your daddy will understand completely. He might be a little on edge about what happened, but he'll always love you Beth" I looked at her, she nodded and all 3 of us walked downstairs towards Hershel.
I gave Beth a reassuring look and she went over to him, pulling him aside as Maggie explained what happened. I looked at the dining room table that sat Rick, Daryl and Glenn. I smiled a little noticing Glenn never changed his shirt, so he still had pie all over it. "I'll be back" Hershel told the three and took Beth upstairs to her room, I assume to talk and stitch her up. I went to Maggie giving her a hug. "She'll be alright" I whispered.
I walked outside and saw Carol. "Hey Carol" I smiled at her. Carol looked up from moving the walkers, and waved. Carol was the type of person to give off such a motherly vibe. Poor Carol. I thought about Sophia, and sighed. "Need any help?" I asked her, making my way towards her. "No, I'm okay sweetie, I'm just trying to get my mind off things" I nodded, understanding what she meant, which is exactly what I'm trying to do.
What A Birthday. I thought to myself going to sit down by a little pond, when a heard someone screaming bloody murder.
I knew who's voice that was.
