Having awoke from her nightmare, Rose sighed. Wiping the sweat off her neck, she recalled the horrible nightmare which seemed like reality.

"Mom.." Rose pleaded, putting her hands together. "Don't leave Rose alone. Rose is scared. Those people are scawy.."

Rose shook her head off her thoughts. It seemed like when she was five, but she couldn't exactly recall what had happened. Her 'mom' which she didn't know was a fake, rushed into the room to stop her from thinking further.

"Mom, I had a nightmare..about someone leaving me alone. Isn't that weird?" Rose asked her 'mom'.

"It's alright, Rose. You have already grown up. Look at yourself! Nightmares are here just to spook you out. It's alright. Mom's here." 'Mom' smiled. Oblivious, Rose nodded.

"Mom.." Rose put her hands together, looking at the woman with lipstick so dark it looked like a witch's. "Don't leave Rose alone. Rose is scared. Those people are scawy.."

The woman pushed Rose away.

"Ahjumma..here's 200000 won. Take care of her, but make sure I never see that girl ever again. I regret giving birth to her." The woman rolled her eyes.

The other woman, wearing no makeup bowed and immediately agreed. She had always wanted a baby girl with her husband, but her husband abandoned her for someone else.

"I will take care of her and keep her out of your sight."

End of past.

"Rose, get ready for school! Your bag is beside my bed. Go and get it. I'll take a quick bath before bringing you to school." 'Mom' said.

"Okay! There's still 20 minutes anyway." Rose nodded, Bubbling with excitement. She loved going to school. She had friends there who would talk to her and nobody made fun of her.

Rose went into her 'mom''s room to retrieve her bag. It had spoilt so her 'mom' fixed it by sewing it back together. That's why the bag is in her 'mom''s room. She sat on the fluffy bed and reached down to take her bag. Just then, she saw a book. It wrote 'DIARY' on the front page so Rose immediately knew that it was her 'mom''s diary. She wanted to sneak a peek, but decided it was not right. A while after hesitating, she came to her conclusions to open the book to read just 'ONE' page.

When she opened it, she smiled when she read about her 'mom' writing about the days they spent together, the food they ate together and about the fun times they had at the theme park. Flipping the pages, she finally got to the last page.

"What's this? Never tell Rose about her past. I've promised her. I shall not break it.." Rose read aloud.

Suddenly, the room door slammed open.Rose's 'mom' came in and her jaw dropped as she saw Rose scanning the last page carefully.

"Mom, what's this?" Rose held up the book and walked towards the poor woman whose face has already turned pale.

"T..this..was..it was.." 'Mom' stuttered, clenching her fists into a tight ball to stop herself from spilling out the truth.

"Don't tell me.." Rose was on the brink of tears. "I was.."

"Adopted." 'Mom' gave up and said the word Rose had wanted to hear the last out of everything.

She felt as if her heart had been ripped from her body. She cried her heart out on hearing the tragic news. Falling to her knees, Rose clutched her head in despair.

"What have I done to deserve this? WHY ME?!" Rose cried out loud.

"Rose ahh.." 'Mom' tried to comfort Rose.

"GET LOST! You fake!!" Rose screamed as she threw a pillow at the floor. It landed with a loud thump in front of her mother.

"I'm sorry, Rose. I had wanted to tell you since the day I brought you home, but you were too young to understand." 'Mom' said as warm tears flowed down her cheeks.

"I'm really sorry."
