-Daybreak-

"Fira, Raven, and Sakaza, you three will meet the carrier dragons on the far side of the island. We have Herawings awaiting your presence at the dock to take you there.

"Herawings? What in Thor's name..." Raven questioned.

"Horses that fly." The guide explained.

"So, a Pegasus?" Sakaza said with a slight snicker.

"In a sense, yes. But these are much more powerful than your average fairytale Pegasus."

"How's that?" Raven asked.

"Wings are much larger. Herawings are black with horns, tails, and scales like a dragon. We only use them for short distsnce travel." The guide explained.

"Woah. Do we use them in battle?" Raven seemed to have endless questions.

"Depending on the combat. They are good for on ground combat due to their protective skins and horns... While dragons are great for sky combat, Herawings are good because their wings are able to appear and disappear."

"So... They can fly when they want but... The wings disappear?" Raven kept questioning.

"Their wings are nearly transparent... So yes."

"Oh." Raven's eyes grew wider in astonishment.

"You'll see them soon. Now, we have no time to waste. You three must make it to the Herawings at once."

"Won't we need to gather our things before being shipped?" Fira asked.

"No, they have everything you will need already prepared for you. Now, get going!"

"Yes sir." Raven said as the three chosen sprinted to the docks.

They arrived at the docks as the Herawings turned their large heads. They snorted in our presence and pawed the wooden docks.

"They are bigger than I imagined..." Fira said as she examined the horse like creatures standing next to the small ladders that prepared the three to climb upon their mounts.

"Yeah, this is gonna be great. The next closest thing to flying a dragon!" Sakaza replied as she ran up to the Herawing. She climbed the ladder and sat on one the large creatures. "Can you even imagine running into combat on one of these beasts!"

One of the Herawings snorted and shook its head in response, "Maverick, can you imagine running into a war with these foolish children on our backs?"

"Woah. Did it just..." Sakaza looked down at her mount with question.

"Yes, we speak. Now, please get on so we aren't late getting to the carrier dragons. And my name is, Hellian. Not 'it'."

"Wait... Do the dragons speak as well?" Raven asked as he mounted.

"Some do. Dragons tend not to speak unless they are communicating with their rider. Even then it is quite rare." Hellian replied.

"How far are we flying to get to the carrier dragons?" Fira asked.

"Not far. A few hours maybe."

"A few hours? They said Herawings only fly short distance!" Raven said.

"Yes, that is a short distance." Hellian cackled, "these three will be in for quite the surprise when they find out how long the journey is to, Condor Enclave."

"How long is it?" Sakaza asked quickly.

"A day or two of a ride. That is... By dragon." Maverick answered.
