Gilbert open the scale, and a sent of fresh made shepherds pie comes in my nose. "We are sorry to intrude, but we wanted you to have that." Ruby says, pointing at the food. Gilbert nods and Diana says, "we're sorry for you loss." "It's a shepherds pie. We made it together especially for you." A smile forms on my face. It's really kind that they made that for him.
"Thank you." Says Gilbert. "We hope you like shepherds pie." "Everyone likes shepherds pie." Yeah, forgot that it was Ruby. "We hope it's a comfort to you, Gilbert." "And also to Grace." Diana adds. "But especially to Gilbert." Ruby says with a big smile.
"Anne made the topping. She is a good cook." "But I would make a terrible wife!" She suddenly says. Me and Gilbert both have a confused look on our face. Anne is shocked by her own words and walks out of the door. "Well, um, thank you for stopping by." Ruby and Diana also leave. "Let me put that in the kitchen." I say to Gilbert. I take the scale in my hands and walk to the kitchen.

"This store?" I ask, pointing at the store next to us. Gilbert nods, and we walk into the store. Gilbert needed some supplies and the doctor said that I needed to walk because, that's good for my leg. "Hello, Gilbert, Grace." I turn around and see mr. Cuthbert standing. "Good day, Mr. Cuthbert."
"So, Uh... But of a cold snap, huh?" I think that he is trying to form a conversation, with Gilbert. "True enough." Gil says kill. I furrow my eyebrows and walk past Gilbert to look at some supplies. "Uh, the other day at the, um... I-I noticed that you had to leave a couple fields go fallow." "I haven't decided yet."
"I'm sorry?" "I'll let you know if I'm going to sell." I sigh. "No, no, no, I just, um, I only wanted you to know that me and my hand Jerry, we'd be happy to help out. We'll come over in the spring, if you like, get your back up and running."
"That's very kind." Gilbert looks away to me and then back to Matthew. "Truth is, uh, I never really wanted to be a farmer." Mr. Cuthbert looks a little shocked. "Well, I'd best get to it." Gilbert turns around and looks at the store stuff. "You can say, thank you, to Anne for the pie." I tell Mr. Cuthbert. He nods and slowly turns around.
