Hey my name is Daisy I'm 19 years old and have cancer. No one knows this except for my best friend Bianca. Well I have a crush and his name is James and ya Bianca knows this too. Were in the gym playing dodgeball! I love dodgeball but when someone hits me on the waist, hip or stomach it hurts a lot because of the cancer spreading. I was taking to Bianca about the math test that we were going to have today but all of a sudden I hear someone call my name and I look in front of me Its a ball coming toward me the I feel pain spike toward my hips I scream.
I fall toward the ground and I hear lots of footsteps coming towards me. The teacher helped me up and called James to help me go to the nurse. I look at Bianca and we exchanged glances. James took my arm and put over his shoulder. His hands were around my waist so I can have some support. As we were walking but I was limping I heard James say something which I couldn't hear. I asked him what he said he ignored me and we kept walking. I told him that I wanted to sit for a little bit. So we sat on the bench. He said to me Why are you overreacting for a small ball that hit you?
I looked at him and said fell down the stairs and my hips were hurting a lot so ya it did not heal yet. James looked at me and said I know your lying tell me the truth. I looked down and quietly said I have cancer. I look up James was looking at me in horror. I looked away and started to cry. I felt a hand over me patting my shoulder. I wipe my tears away and said that my hips don't hurt anymore let's go back. As we were walking the PA turned on the lady said there is a lock down going to happen so all teachers lock your doors and hide the students.
We looked at each other and ran to the gym but there was nobody in the gym. When we turn around we see a man holding a gun walking towards us. When the man turned around we ran into the gym and hid in the doors where they place the chairs. We hid there for a couple of hours. Luckily I brought my phone with me I texted Bianca and right away she replayed. I texted back and forth until I told Bianca to show this to Ms. S. I looked at my percent it was at 62%. I tapped James and hand gestured him where is your phone take it out.
He took his phone and gave it to me I turned on the phone and gave it back. I started to hear footsteps coming towards us I cover my mouth and close my eyes I could only hear my heartbeat in my ears. Then the footsteps started to fade away. I did not move nether did he. I heard the door open and a guy screaming I look up and it's a good thing I know how to fight a guy. So I did I kicked him in the weak parts which all guys have when he fell to the floor whining I helped James up and sprinted to the door we knocked and turned the doorknob on every door and finally one of the doors opened we both got in and locked the door.
I was crying for no reason. I felt hands hugging me and I cried in his chest. If felt like hours but I was really tired so I slept not noticing that he was still hugging me. I woke up suddenly with James's hands still on me. His hands were warm and soft. I took his hands and put it beside him so it's not over me. That second I realized that he was asleep too. So I sat there hearing if the was ant noise coming from the outside closer and closer to us. Then I looked and James and then I shook him until he woke up with a gasp he looked at me and hand signaled me what?
I said someone outside in hand signals. He tried to find a weapon just in case if anything goes wrong like if the intruder opens the door. We found 2 broom sticks so I took 1 and he took the second one. After a few minutes we hear a girl screaming and then gunshots I got so scared that tears started to form in my eye. I took the broom and I looked ready for anything. The school became quiet all of a sudden and I heard James say something but I could not hear him. I saw the door knob open and then I the teas that started to form in my eyes were going down my cheek.
When the door opened The intruder was pointing a gun at me I took the broom and push the broom in his stomach he pulled the trigger and she gunshot hit me right on the chest and I fall to to ground. James screamed and punch the intruder in the face and then I heard a big THUD on the ground. After James turned to me and all of a sudden my vision was blurry and I couldn't hear properly. I hear someone yelling but I did not know who it was.
