Chapter 14

*Saturday*

Rosie's POV:

Ugh! I have been laying in bed for forever! I woke up at 5 AM, because of, well, who knows what. Anyway, so I looked over at my clock. 7:30 AM. Joy. So it's the first saturday with Josh here, and I'm kinda worried. Everythings been so weird since since he has gotten here. Jack has been avoiding me, Eddie, Milton, and Jerry, well, I think they may be avoiding me too. Kim is having a tough time keeping the secret and whenever the 7 of us hangout everything is VERY awkward.

Anyway, I finally decided to get up and get ready to greet the day. I stripped down and got into the shower. After I was done, I threw on this outfit. I headed down stairs and grabbed my bag and a granola bar. Rudy isn't up yet so I just slipped out the front door quietly.

I decided to skip karate today, because, well, I just need a break. I headed towards the mall. I need to get a few things like some new tees, shorts, lipgloss, any new cool sneakers, and whatever else I find that I like.

Anyway, I scroll through all my songs (I have a LOT!) and finally come across the one I want. I put my headphones on, that had been resting around my neck, and play the music. (song on side)

I love this song! I have listened to it a million times and have all the lyrics memorized. I look to make sure no one is around before I start singing along with the music.

Rosie: "I don't care, I love it. I don't care.

You're on a different road, I'm in the milky way

You're so damn hard to please, we gotta kill this switch

You're from the 70's, but I'm a 90's bitch!"

Jack: "Rosie!"

Rosie: "AHH! OH MA GOSH! Jack! WHAT THE HECK?!?! You freaking gave me a heart attack!!!!"

Jack: "Sorry, I didn't mean too. I was on a walk and I heard you singing."

Rosie: "Ummm... No, no you didn't that was just my music cuz I don't sing and I gotta go! So Au Revoir!"

I said all in one breath then tried to get away quickly. But of course, he followed and caught up with me.

Jack: "Well, I believe you were singing and you have a really good voice."

Rosie: "Thanks."

I said almost inaudible.

Jack: "But it sounds very familiar. Like I've heard your voice somewhere else before?" He said almost as more of a question.

Rosie: "Well, unless you stalk me all the time, I doubt you have."

Jack suddenly grabbed my arm to make me stop walking and looked into my eyes.

Jack: "Rosie, I want you to be honest with me ok?"

Rosie: "Umm... Ok?" I replied stunned and confused.

Jack: "What's going on between you and Josh?"

My eyes suddenly widened and I stood there in shock. Oh gosh! What do I say?! Should I tell him the truth?!?! AHHH!!!

Rosie: "Umm... Just close family friends."

Jack: "Oh, please. There is denfinitely more than that and I want you to stop lying and just tell me."

Rosie: "Why do you even care anyway?! Ever since he got here you've been avoiding me and just flat out ignoring me. So why the heck would you care?!"

Jack: "Umm... Oh... Well..."

Rosie: "Would you spit it out already?!"

Jack: "Fine, I like you, Rosie. Like, more than just friends. I think about you a lot and everytime I see you I can't help, but smile. But, it's obvious you and Josh like each other so I guess it doesn't matter anyway!"

I just stood there in complete shock... He likes me? Whoa...

I realized I needed to stop standing there with a stunned look and actually reply.

Rosie: "Well, I guess first I should say that... I... Ummm... *sigh* I like you too." I quietly mumbled in hopes he wouldn't hear me... In a way. But in a way I kind wanted him to hear me.

Jack: "What?... Then what's going on between you and Josh?"

Rosie: "Nothing. We are just really good friends who have know each other for a long time." I say shrugging casually. I really need to make sure he doesn't suspect anything more. But on the other hand, it might be a good thing to tell him... *sigh*

Jack: "Rosie, please, I know you better than that. I know we haven't know each other that long, but I can tell when your trying to hide something."

Rosie: *sigh* "I'm just not ready to tell anyone yet. I'll tell you when I'm ready. I promise."

Jack: "Alright. Well, where are you heading?"

Rosie: "The mall. Do you wanna come?"

Jack looked at me and smiled.

Jack: "Sure! Race yah!"
