You clocked out of work for the day and went to grab all your belongings together. On your way out, you said goodbye to your co-workers. At this time, it was 8 pm, and it was already pitch black outside. You could not see anything. It was darker than usual, but this day was anything but the typical day for you.

You started to walk home and noticed the abandoned house that the man walked into; you stopped your walk and stood there staring at the house. You could not get that man out of your head. He was not like anyone you have ever seen. He was massive and imitating. He wanted to grab you and could have hurt you. However, he somehow reminds you of someone. Then there was that shadow; it just was there moving closer and closer, no face and barely an entire body, just a dark figure standing there. You could not manage to get that man or that shadow out of your head. You see different people every day, but how this man looked just brought total fear upon you. Why did that man want you? Why was this happening to you? You wanted to go home to rest and reset your mind, but something was pulling you to go to that house; you wanted to know what was going on. So your curiosity then got the better of you, you decided to walk to the house and see what was up with it. Every window and door was boarded up with no way to get in and no way to get out.

Nevertheless, you swore you saw him enter that house; you went to look at the back of the house. There was a small light poking out through a boarded-up window. You looked in the small brakes in the wood and saw just a candle sitting on a table; behind that white roses, they looked new, and a picture was hanging on the wall. It had a man holding a baby. It was so disturbing that you felt chills go up to your spine. You could not make out anything else in that room. It was far too dark. However, you kept looking in until you heard a loud crash and saw something moving around in the house. The candle then blows out. You could see nothing, but you felt something there; you felt him there. You were officially scared to your core, so you ran all the way home, not once looking back. Once you finally were in your building and got to the elevator, you were far too frightened to even go onto it. So you took the long way up the stairs, and after ten levels, you got to your floor and went straight into your apartment. You threw your belongings on the ground and locked every window and door, and turned on every light. Once that was done, you sat on the couch with your computer. You could not calm down; it was all too much for just one day. You then heard your phone ringer go off and realized Emilia was trying to call you. You picked up the phone.

"Hey Em, how are you doing now? Today you acted pretty unusually, and you did not talk much to anyone at work. Tell me what is going on, please?" Emilia asked.

You take a long deep breath and begin to tell Emilia everything that happened throughout your day. Starting with the moment, you woke up that morning to you leaving work and heading over to that abandoned house. You talk about the shadow and the man you first met in the elevator. Emilia said nothing the entire time you spoke, but who could blame her? You even thought that this all sounded crazy. You finished telling her about your hectic day, and still, nothing is said from her side.

"Emilia, are you still there?" You asked, worried that you just scared your best friend away.

"Em, you remember when we first met? We were in the second grade, and it was a week or two after your mom's death. You were all alone on the playground during recess, just crying. I came up to you because no one else wanted to and made that stupid joke that launched our friendship. You remember, right?" Emilia asked

"Of course, I remember that day." You chuckled, "No one wanted to be my friend. The other kids thought I was weird and saw things that were not there all the time. Even the teachers told my parents that I should get help. However, that day, you came up to me and said that we should be best friends, and we would be called The Ems." You take a pause. "But what does that have to do with anything I just told you."

Emilia takes a deep breath. "Well, Em, the anniversary of your mother's death is approaching; maybe that is why you have been having such a weird day?"

You do not say anything after hearing what Emilia just said; it goes quiet for a couple of minutes. Until Emilia said. "I am sorry, Em. I did not mean to upset you or make you feel like I did not believe you. However, you must understand that this all seems unusual; this does not make any sense. I think you should get some sleep, and we can talk again tomorrow."

So after everything, you hung up the phone and went onto your computer. You search up the house thinking you would find, "Man kills family" or "Man dies in this house" or "House Haunted," the stereotypical horror movie themes. However, nothing could be found about the house; instead, you discovered that this house does not exist on the internet. Nothing was found or said about it, and it is not on any map like it is not real. You were so confused; how could nothing pop up about this house, not even the address of the place or a picture? So with everything, you went to bed that night, hoping that in the morning everything would be better, and today was just a bad day. Alternatively, today could be just a bizarre dream.
