Chapter 8: Requiem

A rush of memories. A familiar taste. This was Yuki, the girl he loved. Choosing to forget her was the worst decision he ever made. Even without his memories, he was drawn to her. Like a moth to a flame, she was his light. He gazed upon her perfect, porcelain skin making sure to take in every detail. He touched his hand to her rosy cheek and gazed into her kind eyes.

"Yuki..." Said Zero as he took Yuki into his arms. "Oh Zero!" Said Yuki as tears streamed down her face. "I'm so sorry Yuki. I did this thinking it would make you happier, but I was wrong." Said Zero as he pulled her closer. "What a touching reunion." Said a familiar voice. "It's you." Said Zero as he turned to face the vampire known as Assassin. "I'm touched Zero, you actually remembered me. Is it because you know what I want?" Said the vampire. "Honestly, the security here isn't what it used to be." He said as he walked towards the two.

"I will NEVER let you have Yuki!!" Screamed Zero as he pushed Yuki behind him. "We shall see about that!" Screamed Assassin as he zoomed towards Zero. Zero drew the Bloody Rose and began shooting at the vampire intent on taking away the only thing he held dear. Yuki knee she couldn't let Zero take this vampire on alone. She gathered her courage's and summoned Artemis. "Not so fast!" She Screamed as she stood between the killer vampire and Zero. "Yuki no!" Screamed Zero as he pushed her out of the way of the vampires blow.

"GAHHHH!" Screamed Zero is agony as Assassin dealt him the blow meant for Yuki. "ZERO!" Screamed Yuki as she ran to Zero. "Not so fast sweetheart." Said Assassin as he grabbed Yuki by the wrist, rendering Artemis useless. He pulled Yuki close to him, taking in her scent. "Yu-ki..." whispered Zero as he tried unsuccessfully to fire the Bloody Rose. Blood was pouring from his abdomen and he was beginning to feel helpless. He was finally reunited with Yuki, and he couldn't even save her.

DAMN IT!!!

"Bastard! Let her go!" Zero managed to scream out. "I think I'm going to drain you completely." Said Assassin as he went to lick Yuki's neck. "No! Let me go!" Screamed Yuki as she squirmed, trying to somehow free herself. "And who do you think is going to save you?" Said the vampire as he took Yuki's face into his hand. She was shaking, but had no answer for his question. Just when she was about to lose hope, another familiar voice was heard. "Assassin, or rather, Leopold Matsuo." Came a voice all too familiar to the murderous vampire. "Kaname Kuran. I see you've come." Said Assassin as he smiled, holding Yuki even tighter to the point she let out a whimper. "I see. So this is how you planned to lure me out." Said Kaname as he looked at Yuki in the hands of another.

"Of course!!! You took my love away from me!! So now I'm going to do the same to you!" He Screamed as he bit Yuki. "Ahhhhh! She screamed at the feeling of his fangs piercing her neck. "YUKI NO!" Screamed Zero as he tried to stand. "You just did something you will regret." Said Kaname as he appeared behind Leopold. Leopold released Yuki from his grasp,causing her to fall unconscious. "So. I wasn't able to make you feel my pain after all." Said Leopold as he grinned. "You're wrong." Said Kaname as his eyes turned a rust color. "You took something from the person most precious to me." He said as he put his hands around Leopold's neck. "Zero, look away." Said Kaname to the man lying on the ground. "Kaname." He said as he looked at Yuki, and the fang marks on her neck.

Blood-curdling screams came from the vampire known as Assassin, causing Zero to shutter at the thought of what Kaname was capable of. The next thing he heard was the thud of a body hitting the floor. He saw the lifeless body of Assassin, and the blood dripping from Kaname's mouth. "Zero." Said Kaname as he walked over to Zero. "Drink my blood." He said as he bent down to Zero. "No. I refuse to drink your tainted blood!" Zero screamed out. "Do it. I need to know you will be here with Yuki long after I'm gone." Said Kaname as he pulled aside his shirt. Zero's eyes began to glow red, signaling he had accepted Kaname's offer.
