I woke looking at Gadget standing over me. "Hey babe." I smiled up at him. Mitsuki and Dimitri walked in. "Oh thank goodness he's up." Mitsuki said and Dimitri climbed up on my lap as I sat up. "How long was I out." I asked looking around. "A few hours." Gadget said then looked at Dimitri. "Oh yeah. Dimitri, what in the world happened to you during our duel?" Dimitri looked away. "He said I'd be a better duelist if I did what he said." Mitsuki, Gadget and I all exchange looks. "Who?" I asked Dimitri. "I don't know his name but he gave me this card and tapped my shoulder with some weird dragon staff." Dimitri was pulling out his deck an held up a monster reincarnation. I took the card and looked it over I even let Dark take over my eyes and he couldn't find anything wrong it was a normal monster reincarnation card. "He said I could win if I let loose and focus." Gadget seemed curious but didn't say anything. He put his hand on Dimitri. I immediately stared Gadget down looking at from him to his glove. The Dark Relic Glove of Ma'at also known as the glove of truth speaking. "Dimitri where did you meet this stranger?" Dimitri's eyes narrow like in a trance. "He was a roadside card vendor he gave me the card free and touched my shoulder with his staff saying I was destined for greatness." Gadget let go. "Good lad, Dimitri." Mitsuki butted in. "So we go investigate every street side card vendor?" I shook my head. Dimitri got down. "Can I watch TV daddy?" He asked me. "Sure kiddo." He ran out of the room and to the downstairs TV. I stood grabbing my deck and my duel disk. there was a knock downstairs and we all go down and Melody was standing at the door looking at black hedgehog with red stripes. "Um can we help you?" The hedgehog let himself in. "I'm here for a duel with a mister Gears." Gadget stepped forward. "You must be Shadow of duel Corp." The hedgehog chuckled. "Yes I'm Shadow but 'of duel Corp' is wrong technically I am what duel Corp is." Gadget laughed. "Everyone this is the king of games, Shadow. He's here to duel with me." I laughed. "You can't be the king. Cause I am." I say cockily. "Fine care to prove me wrong fox boy. Then let it be known I'm holding a 16 person duel tournament and I could use 5 more duelists and if you 3 join I'll need 2 more." At that moment Dimitri and Melody butted in. "We'll enter!" They both say in unison. "Fine then, Gadget. I will duel you in the tournament to prove our deal. Oh and before I leave the tournament starts in an hour." He said walking out. "My first duel tournament!" Dimitri said excitedly then points at me. "In an hour's time we start this tournament and dad you better make finals cause I promise I will crush you!" He said putting on his duel disk and rushing into the city. Melody chased after him to keep an eye on him. All of our duel disks began to blink and a womanly computer voice began to speak. "Duel Corp would like to welcome you 16 fabulous duelists from all over Mobius to the first ever duel corp tournament. When you face another tournament duelist you have the option to challenge for tournament points. Gaining 10 tournament points puts you in the finals but only 8 of the 16 will duel in the finals. Tournament points are kept track of in your duel disk and bystanders to the duels can see your tournament record on both the duel corp website and the duel screens scattered throughout Mobius. Safe dueling everyone!" The voice cut out. We all look at each other and smile. "Alright looks like it's game on." Gadget said and Mitsuki and I both nod in agreement.
An hour later Melody, Marine, and I were all wandering the city looking for duelists to take on. As we reached the center of the city a pair of odd looking echidna with white cloaks were talking with some locals. We went to see what was going on. They turned to us and I realized immediately the orange ones tiara had the same eye as dad's locket, Papa's glove, and Ms. Mitsuki's gem collar on it. "Excuse me ma'am but I can't help but realize your tiara has the same eye that my dad's and their friend have on some of their stuff. Can I ask where you got it?" The orange echidna smiled. "Oh hello there. My tiara is actually a family heirloom. But you said that your father and his friend has items with this eye?" I nodded. "Yeah but I actually have two dad's ma'am and their friend has one too." Melody grabbed my shoulder. "Sorry about him he's just a curious boy." The orange echidna smiled. The red echidna looked angry as he huffed. "I'm Tikal and this red piece of anger is Knuckles. We are dueling in the tournament but are having a hard time finding other tournament duelists." Melody and I looked at each other as Marine walked over with a drink she got at a side shop. "We are in the tournament." I say looking at the two echidna holding up my duel disk to prove my point. "I'm Dimitri Direwolf Gears and this is my sister Melody Dark Hedgefox." Knuckles looked at us both then just at me. "Knuckles Echidna duelist from the land in the sky. I wish to duel with you, Dimitri." I looked at the red echidna in the white cloak and nodded. "Let's duel!" We both say as he back flips away from me so we have enough room to duel. We both draw our respective 5 cards. And he let's me go first. "Alright, Knuckles, I play one card face down in attack position then I'll place one card face down and end my turn." He nods and draws. "Alright I play zombie master in attack position and attack your face down." I smirk. "Not so fast since the card I placed was a winged beast I can activate my trap, Icarus attack. I tribute my winged beast to destroy up to 2 cards on the field. So say good bye to your zombie master!" He growled. "I end my turn. Smart move, kid." I smiled and draw my next card. "I summon masked dragon and attack you directly for 1400 life points and end my turn." He grunts taking the blow. "I draw. I play my elemental hero burstinatrix in attack position then I play monster recovery. This card allows me to shuffle my hand and burstinatrix back into my deck and draw equal to my current hand. Around and around it goes where my deck lands only the gods will know. I draw. I play final countdown. I pay 2000 life points so that after 20 turns counting this turn I win the duel. I will also play one card face down and end my turn." I growl drawing a card. "I activate legacy of the yata-garasu to draw one card! I draw. I play armed dragon level 3 in attack position and I attack you with both my monsters for 2600 of your life points leaving you at 2000 exactly. Your move." He growled as I smiled at him. "I draw with the gods power. Well well looks like the gods have favoured me. I play swords of revealing light stopping you for 3 turns and I'll play one card face down in defense position and end my turn." I drew my next card knowing that swords of revealing light has me pinned if he draws good. "I play most valley falcon in attack position and end my turn." Knuckles smirked on his next draw. "I tribute my face down monster for my malevolent mech - Goku en in attack position taking out your mist valley falcon and ending my turn." I drew my next card. He was good I'll give him that but I can't lose if I pull my Leyvaten or my Mystletainn I could turn this duel around. "I'll play dragunity legionnaire in defense position and put my other monsters in defense position and end my turn." He nods drawing his next card his next card. "Malevolent mech attack his legionnaire and I'll end my turn there." I growl and draw. I couldn't believe my eyes seeing my mirror force. "Alright time to make a change. I play Hunter owl in attack position then I place one card face down and end my turn. Your move, knuckle head." He growled at my taunt and I could see Tikal hide a chuckle on the side line. "I draw! I play return zombie in attack position and attack your armed dragon!" I smirk activating my trap card. "Mirror force, destroy his monsters!" He looked surprised and was forced to end his turn. "Alright I switch my monsters into attack position and with Hunter owl and masked dragon I obliterate your life points winning this duel!" Melody and Marine ran over congratulating me. I saw Tikal walk over to knuckles and hand him something and he walked over to me. "Congrats on being the first to win against me in the tournament. I know this might seem a bit extreme but Tikal and I both think you should take this. It's a rare card so rare only one exists. Take it as both a token of our alignment and your luck on winning this tournament." He hands me a yellow card called The Winged Dragon of Ra. Tikal now walks over. "That's an Egyptian good card. Treat it well like I know you will and do me a favour and make it to the finals and we will have our duel then. I bid you adieu and your sister and her girlfriend as well." Melody looked surprised as they walk off. "Wait how did you know she was my girlfriend?!" Tikal looks back smiling. "A girl has her ways!" She says waving as they walk off. I wave back. "Don't you worry Tikal I will make the final and then we will have our duel!"
