Every kid's earliest memory is having one's own birthday party that will be remembered throughout time. Maybe not the guests not even the friends who came, but the place will definitely become an unconscious favorite. Do you remember your most memorable birthday party?

I have always fancied fried chicken. No matter the restaurant, that will always be my order. Two pieces to be exact. You guessed right, I became one of those running chubby kids with food in their hands. I run and eat at the same time. Good thing I didn't have to pay that time. But when you're young, it doesn't really matter because you burn more than what you can consume if you are a hyperactive kid. Running around, jumping and screaming all day.

As time goes by, you will get into that state of mind of comparing your food and that's when things get riled up. Once you crave that crispy, delicious and tender bite, you can't not have it. This is where tantrums come in and it's not the kid's fault but it is up to the parents to properly discipline them early on. I have to thank my parentals for timely doing that because I didn't grow up spoiled. I knew at a young age what good budget and sharing bring. It simply means more quality time while eating, less calories consumed and more places to eat at.

The flavor you grow up with will undeniably become your comfort food.

Fast forwarding to gaining a lot of weight, focusing on nothing but my studies, after graduating BSN and passing the board exam, I had my own dreams to pursue. The Limelight. I didn't want to be famous for I just wanted a part of the spotlight where I could reflect my own light to places that need hope. I've set aside that dream so I could finish what I promised my parentals and to myself. The process was gruesome and I'm not gonna sugarcoat it. I had to change my lifestyle 540 degrees. Why 540? Because I had to change so drastically that I spun around in circles for months but found the right direction after I got a good grip of the situation.

Fast forwarding to after losing a lot of weight, 3XL-ing to a Medium, changing my whole diet perception, working out insanely 5 times a week, performing Ibong Adarna for schools, saying "annyeonghaseyo" after learning it from students, blitzing in Luz-Viz-Min for 2 years and reaching Jakarta to do what I love most, talking, I levelled up from the experiences I've had and was now against another closed gate.

The Gate to VTRs for Commercials.

I've always thought that they were "handpicked" but what I didn't know was "how" they were selected. The process was so exhausting, wallet-draining and not to mention mostly disappointing. No matter how many times you spend commuting to show what you're made of, if you don't "fit the bill," you go home with nothing. Nothing but experience. And since I always see the brighter side of things, I treat it as another step instead of a setback.I can't count how many "steps" I've taken but I just kept saying to myself, "this is not the perfect one for me, thank God I wasn't chosen."

I paused from this race and started another one, for I am a self-proclaimed Jack of All Trades, Hosting. Good thing I realised that I can keep running both races at the same time. The multitasker in me was so happy.

But then one day, a text came saying, "I will present you for a fast-food chain project and the approval will be today."

My heart jumped for joy but I quickly pulled it backdown, not because I need it to function 25 hours a day but I learned not to expect and just pray on situations like this. So that's what I did. I prayed just my usual amount, a thousand times that day. Why? It's free and it's a win-win. You get to talk directly above with The Man while easing your worries.

Messenger dings and a photo loads. My face was encircled with a caption saying, "I chose you for a Print/Digital Shoot."

It was as if Ronald Mc Donald himself pointed his yellow finger at me and smiled with his wide red lips mouthing, "I WANT YOU!"

Ever since that day, everything went up as if I was riding an escalator. Projects were pouring, real friends were popping out from nowhere, pictures of my poster with friends/family posing happily beside it and my family, well they have never been more proud of their Kuya. One who chose to walk on an entirely invisible path with nothing but faith and passion on the potential of greatness as the compass.

The earliest memory I have of my childhood was me, running around an indoor playground, climbing the ladder, throwing a few balls before riding down the slide of a Play Place with a half-eaten drumstick as my weapon during my birthday. That memory is so vivid that I can still hear the happy shrieks I let out whenever I landed on the ground.

Thank you Mc Donald's for playing a vital role in my childhood and adulthood. Who would've thought this possible? I know I didn't, but the fact that I started to hope for something eventually created a spark in the universe that led to the big bang fruition of a so-called dream.

We all have our own limits. I was about to reach mine, but that ladies and gentlemen is in fact the exact moment He will let go of the string of His bow and where you will soar high with His guidance. When He thinks you're ready, He always has bigger and better plans for you.
