Annie and Dylan would convince me to do something else stupid, so I can't look to them for advice.
I guess I'll just have to keep this pain in for now. )
*End of flashback*
MACKENZIE'S POV:
(Wednesday Morning, at the Ziegler house).
I groan, the morning light screeching at my eyes.
Considering yesterdays events, let's just say I'm not in the best mood.
I wander over to my room- I slept on the couch yesterday- picking out something from my closet.
My pair of leggings from yesterday were stained with dust, I guess that's what I get for sitting on a dirty chair. Throwing it in the laundry, I pick out another pair of leggings, pairing it with a random hoodie I found in my closet.
I walked to school alone, not bothering to call Annie to walk with me. Don't blame me, I love her. I just want to be alone right now. I'm sure she understands that.
I'm sure she knows about the little hallway fight. I mean, the whole school most likely knows. My business is somehow everyone's business.
Once I arrived at school, I felt multiple eyes on me. Can't people just get a life and leave me alone? All these stairs on me are just annoying.
I went over to my locker, unlocking it and opening it up completely.
I got my school supplies that I'll need for Mr. Zarbacks class and closed my locker shut, locking it once again.
I turned around, as I see Loren- the Lazer Mania worker that hit on Johnny- smiling at me.
I nervously send her an awkward smile. What did she want from me?
She had her school supplies with her as well.
"Hey, I'm Loren. I saw you at Lazer Mania," She introduced. I nodded my head. "You're Mackenzie Ziegler, correct?"
"Yeah," I grinned. I don't like her, but I might as well be nice.
"I was actually hoping we could talk-" Loren paused for a second, but resumed right after. "-About Johnny."
I winced. Why did she want to talk to me about Johnny? Does she want me to back off or something? Because I can do that. I mean, it's not like Johnny and I are on speaking terms.
I coughed, nodding right after. I might as well talk to her, I have nothing else to lose.
I had this weird thought. What if she would bully me if I didn't talk to her, like Lauren did? I'm really messed up. That's what bullying did to me, I guess.
We began walking to the second floor, side-by-side. She started the conversation, surprisingly.
Loren stared at her feet, fiddling with her fingers. "I was in the hall when Johnny and you had that little fight."
I chuckled, it seems like everyone was in the hall. "Yeah. I'm sorry you had to witness that."
She smirked, "actually, I'm glad I did."
I scrunched my features, confused. Did she just insult me, or not? "What?"
Loren cleared her throat, stopping her walking to face me. "Well, what he said about you wasn't true."
I was still confused. She seemed to notice and proceeded. "About a month ago, he came to me and canceled our date."
"I'm sorry," I awkwardly stated, shifting my weight from leg to leg hysterically.
"It's okay, it really doesn't bother me. But that's not what I wanted to talk to you about," she scratches her back uncomfortably.
I raised an eyebrow, motioning for her to continue.
"He told me he canceled the date because of you," Loren responded. "He said he-"
Loren stopped her talking, face-palming. "Maybe I shouldn't tell you. He should tell you himself, I'd be ruining everything."
"Too late now. Tell me!"
"Fine," Loren put her hands down. "He told me he loved you."
I widened my eyes, not knowing what to think. I blinked a few times, taking in what she had just said.
Johnny loves me?
No way. He doesn't even like me. How could he love me?!
"Are you playing me?" I ask, completely serious.
This was probably some sort of prank, people probably wanted to see my reaction. What a sick joke.
She narrowed her eyes, "why would you think I would be joking? He said you're amazing, and that he loves you."
I nodded my head, taking in the information.
I still didn't believe her.
The bell rings.
"Well, I got to go," Loren muttered. She started towards the left, as my class was closer to the right.
"Wait!" I stopped her. She turns around, slightly confused. "Why did you tell me this?"
"I thought I should fix a relationship. I mean, it's clear that you guys are meant to be. You love each other."
I smile at her, as she smiles back. "Thank you so much, Loren."
"No problem. I'll see you around," Loren grins.
We both wave a goodbye and begin walking opposite ways.
Maybe Loren isn't that bad after all.
A/N: Do you guys like Loren now?😂
