The monotone buzz of several-hundred voices hummed like an orchestra of deadbeat droids. A single figure entered the room, sheer authority silencing the groups of students that crowded the hallways instead of going to class.
There was something about Park Jisung that drew people to him. I guess it didn't hurt that he was a good looking boy, but it was more than that. He was quiet, but not out of painful shyness. It was a reservedness, like a conscious choice to observe the lie of the land before he got involved. Yet he wasn't stand-offish, he remained friendly faced and welcoming... well at least to those of his own kind, the popular kids.
A girl with a low ponytail groaned in annoyance. Her body shifting in the plastic chair uncomfortably. She leaned over towards her friends that sat next to her, sticking her tongue out and making a noise that sounded like a grunt almost. "Blehhh... I'm bored. Oh so bored. So stupidly bored that I could eat a book."
Her friend laughed at her silently, smacking her leg to get her to stop.
"Mina, pay attention to the opening ceremony."Mina rolled her eyes, turning around properly in her seat. Her elbows rested on her knees, and her head rested in her hands. Her fingers played with the little anchor earrings, her lucky charm.
Her eyes shifted across the room quickly. She wasn't sure what she was looking for, probably just something interesting to look at, but she found herself looking at the back of someone's head.
The bleach blonde hair was almost impossible to not recognize. It belonged to the most popular guy in school. Well maybe not the most popular out of the entire school, but he was definitely the most popular in their grade. He was the only eighth grader to hangout with the seniors, aka the five stars rate students.
The school Mina attended wasn't a normal school. It was the SM Star Academy, a school for trainees that were in their way to debut. The academy taught basic classes that a student would receive in a regular school, but they also included special classes that dealt with vocal training and dancing, acting, and even comedians. As a school that dealt with preparing the students for the harsh conditions they would face as idols, the school gave at star reviews. Sort of like how when you buy something off Amazon and they have star reviews.
Depending on a students star review, they would either get special privileges or punishments.
Mina rubbed her eyes in annoyance. "Mina, stop that! You'll end up blind." Kim Jyeha, her neighbor whisper yelled. The blond in front of her turned back, only for a small second. And at that moment, their eyes connected. Mina felt a chill down her spine, and diverted her eyes to her seat partner. "Jye, I'm uninterested in the ceremony."
After that statement, the lights shut off.
The room was silent for a few minutes. The only thing that could be heard was the breathing of those around you.
Mina took this as her chance to slip out from her seat and crawl through the rows of chairs until she reached the walk way. She removed her shoes, the tiny heels on the bottom of the shoe would make to much noisy as she ran to the back of the room and up the stairs to the projection room.
As she shut the door behind her, she turned to face her partner-in-crime; Lee Jeno.
They had been friends since before she could remember. He was the only person she could really consider a friend. He wasn't from a rich family, but he never asked her for anything.
