Chapter 2. Desomnds Flashes

First Desomnd knows that Locke was going to give a speech, then he knows where the lightning was going to hit, then he knows that Claire was drowning when we were a good mile from the beach.

I'm sitting with Charlie and Hurley when I say "Have you guys noticed that Desomnd just kind of..knows things"

"I've noticed it, its bloody bonkers" Charlie says

"Dude sees the future" Hurley says

"We have to get it out of him" I say

"Yea but how are we going to do that?" Charlie ask

I snap my fingers "I know"

I walk over to Sawyers tent and take out a bottle of whiskey and I show them.

"No offense Hayley but I don't thinking drinking to going too help"

"Plus your underage"

I sigh and role my eyes "Its not for me, its the plan you idiots, you get Desomnd drunk and he spills his guts, both metaphorically and possibly physically"

By the time its nightfall we have already succeeded in getting Desomnd drunk and nows hes ready to spill.

"So Desomnd, let me ask you something" I say

"Anything"

"How did you know Claire was drowning?"

"I could hear her calling for help"

"No you didn't, you were like a mile away" says Hurley

He chuckles and says "Well I suppose I've got good hearing" he takes another drink.

"You hear the lightning as well?" Charlie questions

"Excuse me?"

"The lightning just by chance you pitch your little rod by Claire's tent, two hours later lightning strikes"

He gets up and stumbles a little because he's drunk.

"Thanks for the drink pal" Desomnd says as he drops the bottle by Charlies feet.

Charlie stands up and says "Hey I don't know what your doing, you best tells us. Oy! You think because you turned some key your a hero, your not a hero, I don't what it is your doing but I know a coward when I see one"

Apparently Desomnd was not too happy when Charlie said but because the next thing you know Desomnd tackles Charlie.

"Do you know what happened to me when I turned that key!" Desomnd yells

"Dude!" Hurley says

"You don't want to know!"

"Get him off!"

"You don't want to know!"

This was getting out of hand so I hit him in the head with a rock knocking him out.

Charlie and I walk over to Desmond when he wakes up.

"Hey sorry I hit you in the head with a rock"

"Don't worry about it"

"Desomnd, you are going to tell me what happened to you" Charlie says

"When I turned that key..... my life flashed before my eyes, and then I was back in the jungle still on bloody island, but those flashes, those flashes they didn't stop"

"So your telling me you saw a flash of Claire drowning this morning and thats how you knew how to save her"

"I wasn't saving Claire, Charlie, I was saving you, this morning you dove in after Claire, you tried to save her but, you drowned"

"What are you talking about I didn't drown?"

"When I saw the lightning hit the roof you were electrocuted and when you heard Claire was in the water you drowned trying to save her, I dove in myself so you never went in, I've tried brother, I've tried twice to save you but the universe has a way of course correcting and I can't stop it forever, I'm sorry, I'm sorry because no matter what I try to do, your gonna die Charlie"
