"I don't understand the concept of being a pet, what can I do?"

Paco is a chihuahua who has lived his life in entire "freedom and happiness".

"I don't liked being played as a fool by my caretakers, I feel so overpowered, it's not fair to me, I have the right to do what I want." Paco thought to himself, laying in the grass while watching the stars gleam by.

"Those stars get to roam free every single day, they can go absolutely anywhere they want to and nothing is there to stop them. In any shape of form, they will always stride on. I always wished that I could be a star so I could have that freedom I have always craved of having."

Paco decides to go lay in his bed next  his weenie dog sister, Xica. "So Paco, what were you thinking about while you were over there? You looked pretty out of it."

"Xica, do you ever feel trapped in here?"

"No, why do you say that? Something you wish grandma and grandpa could do better?"

"I want to break free, I appreciate their efforts to give me a good life but it's not for me."

"Paco, maybe you're over exaggerating. Grandma and grandpa always give us everything we could ever want."

"I suppose but it's just something I'm thinking about right now. We should get some rest, the morning joggers are gonna pass by pretty early and they need barking at so goodnight Xica, talk to you soon."

"Goodnight Paco, we'll get them bright and early."

Barks of Xica echo into the alert ears of Paco as he slowly gets up, getting his eyes adjusted to the slowly lit up purple sky.

"Paco! You were supposed to get up like an hour ago! You missed all the best joggers too, they had brought their dogs and everything and you had to get that extra hour of shut eye didn't you?"

"I didn't know they'd come that early, I just stayed up all night thinking about that little talk we had last night."

"You need to understand we have everything we need here. What are you going to find out there?"

"I'm going to find what I told you yesterday, my purpose."

"Running away isn't gonna fix your problems Paco, accept it here. It's all we really have."

Paco disatisfied with Xica's feedback, he walks over to the side gates while Xica decides to go back to sleep.

Paco starts looking around the gate to see if there are any good openings. "The gates way too high to jump over, I can't squeeze through the sides, there's bricks covering the bottom, damn this escape proof gate."

The door opens as Grandma opens the door to let them in.

"Paco! Come on, she's letting us inside!"

Paco walks into the house very lazily and goes to the couch and lay down. He lays there, thinking how to escape.

An idea clicked into his head, trash day.

"Whenever Grandpa throws out the trash, he leaves the gate open so he could come back through the backyard." Thought Paco, masterminding his escape plan.

Paco decided if he were to leave, he would need something for the road.

Whenever Paco got a snack from Grandma, he'd take it back to his bed and keep it under there. The only thing left was to take an outfit.

Paco over the years has loved the same outfit for Halloween, this is what he will leave with.

A nice little cowboy outfit with a few pockets and a nice hat to block the sun out of his eyes.

Trash day comes, Paco gears up and sees Xica looking at him as he prepares to venture out into the world.

"So this is it huh? After 4 years, I won't be able to see you again?"

"I'm afraid so Xica, but you know I have to do this. I'm not happy here."

"You gotta do what you feel is right, I'm not gonna hold you back."

Paco nudges his head with her as their goodbyes.

"Be sure to take care of them okay Xica?"

"I will, now get out of here! You got a world to explore!"

Grandpa opens the door and Paco sneaks behind him until he gets to the side walk. Paco runs as fast as he possibly can. Grandpa tries to run after him but Paco outruns him by alot. Paco didn't stop, he just kept running.

"Run.. I.. Just.. Have... To.. Keep.. On.. Running.."
