A small child was protectively covered by it's mother's arms, gun shots, horses galloping and blood being spilled could be heard everywhere. The child was shaking, not only from the bitter frost, but from fear. The mother stood, seeing a horse and carriage heading straight towards her. She quickly took off her coat and wrapped it on the child's shoulders, she ushered the child as far away as possible, before the carriage had rammed straight into the child's mother. The child, stunned and horrified by what had just occurred, stood there, mouth gaping. "There she is! Get her!" Yelled a man, he wore black leather clothing, he had a dagger drawn, the symbol of the Templars on his shoulder. The child turned to flee, only to run into another man, wearing the same clothing. "Gotcha now.." said the new man. The two men carried the child to an alley, and started questioning. "You know what we're talking bout! Spill it or we spill you!" Said the first one. The child was crying at this point, they had cut her cheek with the daggers, a small sliver of crimson flowed from the cut. They kept questioning, saying the same things. The child had no idea what they were talking about. Then, as the child was going to be cut again, a hooded figure, landed from the rooftops above. He killed the two Templars, freeing the child. "... What's your name?" Said the hooded man, the child did not respond. The hooded man then spoke, "My name is Ethan, Ethan Frye." He continued. "Here, let's get that cut fixed." He led her by the hand gently, leading her to a hospital. He knocked on the door, waiting a few seconds, then knocking once again. The door opened, revealing a nurse. "Can I help you, sir?" The nurse asked, Ethan replied. "I came to see if you can help this kid. She seems to be about six or five." The nurse nodded, and allowed them inside.

A few years later

Ethan walked out from an alley, wiping his hidden blade clean. The child was close behind. "Mr. Frye...?" Said the child, "Yes, Y/n?" "When will I be able to c-come along with you on missions?" Y/n was 14 now, the cut had faded to a scar, she wore the same coat her mother had given her. "When you are older, Y/n. Maybe when my dear Evie and Jacob are able to. Since you are about the same age now." He said, they continued to walk down the streets of Crawley, England. "Ok.." Said Y/n. She followed Ethan closely, she was scared of the Templars, since the day her mother died because of them. One day...I'll get revenge. Thought Y/n, who had fallen a few paces behind, she quickly sped up to catch up with the long strides of Ethan Frye.

A few years later. (Again)

"Y/n! See those hanging barrels? Free run over, and cut them with your hidden blade." Said Y/n's Mentor, Jake Alledson. Y/n nodded and easily ran and jumped across platform to platform, pole to pole, to reach the hanging barrels. She started cutting the rope, once she did, the barrels fell with a loud crash. She quickly retreated to her starting position. "God, Jake, give me a real challenge! I'm sick of hanging barrels and delivering letters to the other side of the bloody training field! Give me something real I can accomplish and have some pride in." Said Y/n, she was impatient, but also annoyed by her courses every day. "Everything is the same!" She said, her Mentor responded. "Y/n, I know you want something better and more exciting. But from what your other tea-" Y/n interrupted him. "I don't give a bloody hell of what they think!" She yelled out, exasperated. She had a flare in her eyes that were similar to a wolf's. Her e/c eyes always had a faint glow, like there was something there that everyone missed. "Y/n.." Jake tried to calm her, but she refused. "No. I'm done. I want to do something. Not just sit here and go cut barrels. For God's sake!" Jake looked at her, slightly shocked but mostly disappointed. "Y/n. I'm sorry things can't be how you want it to. This is the way. Either you learn or you refuse." He said, keeping his tone level. Y/n often became like this after days of the same thing. But this time, it was worse. "I-i...need a break.." Y/n said, she was trembling. Is she scared? Maybe she needs some rest. Thought Jake, he nodded and whistled, signaling that the course was over and it could be used whenever. Y/n ran straight to her room, she slammed the door, and then swiped everything off her desk, she laid on her bed, tired. A few minutes later she heard someone knocking on the door, she quickly fixed her desk and then answered. "Hello, Y/n." Said Evie, she stepped inside and shut the door. "Hello, Evie. What do you need?" Y/n had put on a fake smile, Evie sighed placing a hand on Y/n's shoulder. "Listen. I know it's hard to do exactly the same thing everyday, but at least Jake said we might be able to go to town and liberate part of it." Y/n sighed. "Yeah. Might. I want to go out and go to London..ya know..liberate it. Help vanquish the Templars from it..but noooo it's too hard. I saw those letters on Jake's desk! London needs help! Just think..you, me, Jacob..we could destroy the Templar's hold on London.." Evie nodded, a small smile spreading across her face. "Let's just hope.." Y/n nodded, and then yawned. "It's getting late..you should go.." Y/n said, Evie agreed and left. Let's just wait and see what Fate has in store..

"Y/n? Where are you?" Her mother's voice rang in her head, she was on her knees, shaking and staring at the ground. "Y/n! Are you ok?" Yelled out Jacob and Evie, they rushed over to see what was wrong. Y/n snapped back to reality and looked over their features, unsure what to do. "i-im...fine.." Y/n said, they stood, dusting off herself and climbed up the wall to get into her room.

A few more years later (again?)
Y/n awoke to loud noises outside her room, she got up and strapped on her blade. She peeked through a crack in the door. Apparently Jacob decided to tip over some armor stands. "Jacob..why are you up right now?" Y/n whispered to him, he looked up and replied. "Going to see what I can! Up for a little adventure?" He smirked, Y/n chuckled and then got dressed. "Sure." She grinned and jumped down silently. They quickly and quietly made there way into the main parts of town. "Evie told me you were having a tough time with not being able to do much. So I thought I'd show you a little adventure." Jacob said, smirking again. "I really appreciate it. So. Where to first?" "How about...we climb that?" Y/n pointed at a tower, Jacob grinned and nodded. As they were running straight towards it, they were stopped by a policeman. "Oi! Stop right there!" He yelled out, they both stopped, glanced at each other and then the policeman. "What're two kids like you doin out here at this hour?" He asked, Y/n chuckled. "Gonna go climb that tower." She stated, Jacob laughed at the policeman's expression after she said that. "Ya wanna..scoot over so we could go climb that tower?" She asked, this time Jacob was doubling over because this time the policeman made a face so weird, that even a random passerby laughed. "God forbid! You trying to kill yourself?!" Jacob laughed again, and replied. "Well... actually we were also gonna jump off it." The policeman looked even more astonished. "Into a hay cart." Added Y/n, "or leaves, whichever one first." The policeman had looked at them as if they were wild animals. "Alright. Your coming with me to the station." Y/n and Jacob smirked and both ran off in different directions. The policeman managed to catch Y/n by the hood, Jacob had turned around when he heard Y/n sigh. "Calm down!" The policeman yelled, trying to stop Y/n from squirming. "Oi! Get your hands off her, you bloody little prick!" Jacob yelled, pulling Y/n away from him, he took her by the hand and ran towards the tower.
"Thanks Jacob." Said Y/n, they had already started climbing, the policeman had given up, and they climbed to the top, they were out of breath by the time they got up, Y/n sat on the edge, Jacob joined her. "Must've been quite a sight, seeing two 17-18 year olds wanting to go climb a tower and jump off!" Laughed Y/n, Jacob nodded, laughing. "So. You realize that if Evie ever finds out about you sneaking out at night she's gonna be mad?" Jacob responded, chuckling, "I've done it many times, relax for once! Besides, you need some kind of break from all of the training anyways." Y/n nodded, she had a far away look in her eyes. "Y/n?" Jacob said, concerned. "Huh? Oh..sorry.." She did not make eye contact with him. "Thinking about that night, huh?" She nodded, sighing. He placed his arm protectively around her shoulder. "Don't worry. You still got me, Evie and Jake!" He said, a spark of comfort in his eyes, Y/n nodded, resting her head on his shoulder. "Thank you, Jacob.." "Anytime, love, anytime."
