If I was to tell you that above us was a portal, that nobody could see, to another world full of buildings and technology beyond our capabilities, you wouldn't believe me, right? Well this world is called Nevermore. Anyone who can travel to Nevermore are called Jumpers. They can travel from different realms and universes in the matter of seconds. They can even pause time for a bit. Jumpers aren't rare, but there is one Jumper who is said to be the most powerful of all. The legend of the Arch states that most planets will have many Jumpers however, Earth only has one. That one Jumper won't arrive for millions of years until she is needed. She's said to be stronger than any other Jumper and to have powers that cannot be explained. Nevermore has to be protected by these Jumpers because inside of Nevermore is the world core. If in the wrong hands it can destroy worlds in the matter of seconds. Nevermore's leader, Lady Zelfair, devoted her life to protecting it. Everything was going well until she met the ruler of Greevesvile, Lord Cowlarg. Lord Cowlarg is the scariest man you will ever see. He's rumoured to have razor sharp teeth and claws that could pierce human flesheasily. His skin as red as a tomato and his eyes as yellow as the sun, working together to form a giant beast who everyone feared. Many have tried to defeat him. All now lie, dead, in his dungeons. Flox, his evil assistant, has been working in Greevesvile for century's. He is a lot smaller than Lord Cowlarg, but people still fear him. He seems normal, most of the time. His pale face seems so innocent until, he transforms into a green, scaly monster who does as he pleases. Their intentions were to get the world core and Lord Cowlarg would become the king of all universes. The Jumpers managed to stop him once but he swore he would return and this time, without failure. Lady Zelfair knows she can't stop him alone, she needs the Jumper from Earth...

One cold morning in February rolled around once more. The sun rose shining down on the street sign for Aston Drive. Aston Drive is filled with lots of different houses. The smallest of which sits at the end of the road. It's broken and brittle. The occupants of the house are the Miller family. A father, Mr John Miller, a mother, Mrs Faye Miller and a daughter, Eve Miller. Mr and Mrs Miller fight constantly. Arguing over every little thing they can. Tearing at each others throats. Their daughter Eve spends most of her time reading in her room. She believes they're new worlds that she can travel to when she's scared or nervous. She has glasses and always wears a cosy black hoodie and black leggings. She has long Auburn hair that is always down. Her eyes are bright purple but many people thought she was evil. Because of this her parents got banned from shops and other places, so they decided to move to another town, where nobody knows them. Eve's mom forced her to wear blue contacts under her glasses so no one thinks they're strange. This way they look like a normal family, but even though Eve has the blue contacts, people still don't think about their family in a positive way because Mr and Mrs Miller are always fighting.

Inside the house, Eve sat up in her bed. She looked at the patched up sheets on top of her and the stained pillow she just slept on. She hated it but it was better than nothing. Her room was small and filled with books. Eve sat in her bed for a while when all of a sudden she heard voices, screaming from below her. Her parents were arguing about breakfast. Pointless, as always. Eve placed her head on the wall, listening closely to her parents voices. After a while Eve forced herself to get up and get ready. She put on her black clothes, brushed through her hair and placed her glasses on the tip of her nose. She slowly walked down stairs, the voices grew louder until they stopped when Eve was in their sight. "Morning sweetheart." Mrs Miller said as Eve walked over to her. Mrs Miller gently placed a hand on Eve's shoulder. She brushed a single strand of hair that fell in front of Eve's left eye behind her ear. They looked each other in the eye. Mrs Miller's eyes were soft and caring. Her hair was the same colour as Eve's but it was shoulder length. "You're growing up to fast." Mrs Miller whispered before letting Eve sit down and eat breakfast. Eve's dad looked at her from across the table, as she took a bite out of her toast. Eve's dad smiled weakly. He was a tall man with black hair and a very dull personality. He stood up and picked up a bag. He left for work without kissing Mrs Miller on the cheek or even saying goodbye. "Eve," Eve looked at her mom, her mouth filled with toast, "Promise me you won't date someone as stupid as him. Find yourself someone proper. Who isn't full of himself. Someone who loves you with all of their heart. Promise me." Eve nodded. She was sixteen, she knew all of this already. Her mom said these words to her all the time.

When Eve finished her breakfast, she went to get her backpack from in a broken wooden box by the door. Mrs Miller stepped out the kitchen holding a purple bow. "Eve. This was your nans. She said it brought her good luck, I didn't believe her but the one day I wore it, I found you." Eve was adopted. But she loved her mom. She has no idea who her birth mother is but she doesn't care. Eve took the bow before throwing her arms around Mrs Miller. "I know it's hard not knowing your real parents but I love you with all my heart. I'm sure your father does too." Eve smiled before moving backwards. She looked into her mom's eyes. She could tell her mom loved her. Even though she forced Eve to wear blue contacts, Eve loved her too. "Thank you!" Eve yelled as she grabbed a few books by the door. Mrs Miller stepped forwards and she took the bow out of Eve's hands. She pulled some of Eve's hair back and placed the bow in it. Eve hugged her once more and ran out of the front door yelling, "Bye mom! I love you!"

She started to speed-walk down her street. As the street joined the main road Eve stopped in her tracks. She watched as other students joined from their roads to the main street. They all walked towards the end of the street where a large building sat. Eve started to walk down the road. After a few minuets of walking she was close to Woodford High School. The high school for genius students.

For the teenagers who go to Woodford High, school is very hard to deal with. They have a lot of pressure on them to succeed and go to Oxford university as it is the schools mission to only produce hard working, smart and talented young adults. Most of the students start panicking and end up ill because of the amount of stress placed on top of their heads. But some can handle it because they are smart enough'. Even though the school only accepts smart students, that doesn't mean that there aren't some bullies.

As Eve approached the school she realised that other students were watching her. Laughing at her as she walked down the busy street. She didn't know why. She kept walking trying to ignore them as best as she could but she could hear them, loud and clear. Even the ones who were a few meters behind her. She wasn't sure why she could hear them but she sped up trying to get away.

Eve entered the gates into a small outdoor area, with flowers and trees. She started walking towards the entrance when she felt something pull on her hair. She turned around quickly to find a tall boy, the obvious leader, a girl and another large boy. "Look at this Megan. A little purple bow." Said the tall boy, who was holding Eve's bow. The tall boy was called Alex. The other large boy was called Daniel. "How... childish." Said Megan taking the bow from Alex, "Here, Dan." She handed it to Dan. He looked at the bow and started laughing at Eve. "Can...I...I have it...b...b...back please?" Eve muttered. The three kids formed a large triangle around Eve, trowing the bow between them. Other kids in the outside area laughing as Eve ran between them trying to grab the bow. She moved to the middle, her blood bubbling. She could feel her anger building. "Giving up Eve?" Yelled Alex still throwing the bow. Kids still laughing. Anger building. Eve screamed and a green ring that looked like it was made from energy, flew out hitting Alex, Megan and Daniel. They all fell down to the ground. Everyone stepped back. Scared. Something magical just happened. Something strange. Eve was just as confused. She ran towards Alex, who was still on the floor in pain, and grabbed her bow before running inside of the school. She headed towards her locker. Weaving in and out of other students who were trying to get to their classes. She opened it and dumped her books in it. She looked at her hands and her body. She didn't know what that was or how it happened. But she was scared.
