The Great Pretender

Ngumungiti ako kahit nalulungkot ako. Tumatawa ako kahit gusto ko nang umiyak. Pinapayuhan ko sya kahit nasasaktan na ako ng sobra. I'm pretending to be someone Im not because I'm a great pretender.

Vhon is my bestfriend. He is my childhood friend or should I say my childhood sweetheart. Best of friends ang parents namin and so are we.

We lived at the same place. We went to same school together. We used to play the same game, eat the same favorite pasta, watch horror movies, and we even used to share beds.

He is my tutor in Math, partner in crimes, my savior. He knows my flaws, my weakness, strength, and almost everything. Almost.. because he doesnt know one thing, Im in love with him.

I'm deeply inlove with my bestfriend since I was six. He was my knight in shining armor. He used to protect me every time Im bullied. Too young to feel love but Im sure it was!

He makes me feel how special and pretty I am. How I wish I could tell him how I love him. He's my everything!

"Mara, si Vhon oh" sabi ni Pat, isa sa mga kaibigan ko. Ipinihit ko ang paningin ko sa direksyon na tinitingnan ni Pat. Nakita ko ang lalaking bumubuo ng araw ko pero bakas sa mga mata niya ang lungkot.

"Problem?" agad kong tanong.

"I saw Sheena" malungkot niyang tugon sa akin.

Sheena was his first ex girlfriend. He met her four years ago in our Chemistry class when we were 3rd year student. She was beautiful, sexy and hot. A totally opposite of me. I'm just a plain girl, a typical town girl.

They have been together for two years. Everyone thought that they can make it forever because they are such a perfect match, but all of the sudden they broke up. Sheena was Vhon's first of all. First love, first girlfriend, first kiss, first date at kung ano pang pwedeng maging first ay hindi ko na inalam pa.

"Oh. Anyare?" tanong ko habang binubuksan ang isang coke in can.

"She was with other guy. I mean another guy" nakakaawa siya tingnan pero pakiramdam ko doble ang nararamdaman kong awa para sa sarili ko. Kung alam lang niya kung gaano ko siya kagustong yakapin pag nakikita ko siyang ganoon. Tinutorture ko na naman ang sarili ko :(

"Then I guess, it's not the right time to win her back" at sana matagal pa dumating ang panahon na iyon.

"I can't wait any longer, Mara!" napahilamos siya out of frustration.

"Don't worry,we'll work on it sooner" I gave him a convincing smile and tap his shoulder.

Ilang salita lang ang lumabas sa bibig niya but it really kills me inside. The fact na hindi na niya kaya makapaghintay na makuha muli si Sheena ay isang patunay na mahal na mahal niya talaga ito.

"Sorry to interrupt you guys, pero kailangan na nating pumasok Mara. Una na kami Vhon ha?" kasabay ng pagtayo naming dalawa.

Ilang hakbang palang ang layo namin sa pwesto ni Vhon ng lingunin ko syang muli. Nakasalagmok ang mukha niya sa lamesa at halatang iritable parin.

Naiingit ako kay Sheena dahil kahit matagal na silang hindi nagkikita ay mahal na mahal parin siya ni Vhon. At ito ang pinakamasakit para sa parte ko dahil buhat pagkabata ay kasama ko na si Vhon pero hindi ko parin mapantayan ang sayang naibibigay ni Sheena sa kanya.

"You okey?" tanong ni Pat nang makarating kami sa classroom namin.

I nodded and she said "Lair!" with rolling eyes. Kakaiba talaga itong si Pat, she knew me. Nagpapasalamat din ako sakanya dahil nailayo niya agad ako kay Vhon, baka kung hindi, makikita ni Vhon ang pagtulo ng luha ko.
