A deep rumble shook the whole house and Jimin's eyes flew open, now awake from the sudden noise.
Oh no... A thunderstorm.
He hated thunderstorms. Well, storms in general; especially during the night when he was trying to sleep.
He sat up in his bed, rubbing his tired eyes with a sigh just as there was another booming rumble of thunder, accompanied by a bright crack of light from outside. Jimin whimpered, quickly diving under his covers. Curling up into a ball, he listened as rain violently hit the roof above, flashes of light still slightly visible through the comforter.
At that moment, he wished he was a heavy sleeper like Yoongi or Jeongguk, that way he could just sleep through the scary storm. In fact, they were probably still fast asleep right now.
How lucky.
He waited until it sounded like the stormed had calmed down a little before hesitantly raising his head out from under the covers like a turtle. When he was completely out, he heard faint snores coming from the bed next to him, and he looked over to see that Hoseok was pretty much unbothered by the storm. He, too, was a heavy sleeper.
Jimin frowned, not liking that he was awake during the storm by himself. He debated on waking Hoseok up, but eventually voted against it because his Hyung didn't deserved to loose sleep. He let out a huff before sitting upright in his bed again.
I can get through this storm by myself.
He reached and turned on the lamp sitting on the bedside table and turning on the lamp.
There, that's a lot b-
A bolt of lightening suddenly lit up the room with a deafening crack and he gasped as it went completely dark, the bedside lamp (and his little night light) no longer working. The power had been cut off and unfortunately for Jimin, he's scared of the dark just as much as he's scared of thunderstorms.
"No... no, no, no, please" He whimpered, bottom lip quivering. It was so dark he couldn't even see his own hand in front of him and mix that with the pouring rain, loud thunder and blinding lightening... He was afraid. Getting back under the covers, he began to cry.
He's always been so scared, even as a child. It would get to the point to where he would run to his parents room and beg to sleep in their bed with them. As he got older, he grew out of the habitat, replacing it with a new one: using of a night light.
But now, he didn't have either of those options...
Jimin shut his eyes tightly, the tears sliding down his cheeks as he sobbed into his blankets. His body shook in fear, almost to the rhythm of the stormy song outside. Suddenly, he remembered Taehyung stocking the second drawer of their bedside table with a flashlight and he quickly retrieved it, flipping the switch to turn it on.
Thank you, Taehyung.
The dim yellow light helped him relax a little as it wasn't completely pitch black anymore, but he was still scared. There's no way he could deal with this storm all night... At least not by himself.
Slowly, he slipped out of his bed, startling at a violent boom of thunder, and tip-toed over next to Hoseok's bed. The older looked so peaceful as he slept, making Jimin almost feel bad for wanting to wake him-but he sucked it up, bringing a hand down onto his shoulder and stroking it gently.
"Hobi Hyung" He whispered, tears still pricked in his eyes as he held the flashlight under his chin so he could see. Hoseok stirred awake with a groan, rubbing his eyes before looking up at the younger and maybe it was his grogginess, because when he saw Jimin standing over him in complete darkness, flashlight casting weird shadows over his face as thunder and lightening fought outside, he let out a shriek.
