flashback ———

two years passed by.

eru was now on fifth grade.

their section was on morning shift and gave her long hours of playtime in the afternoon.

she was excited to see taehyung as she has so many things to tell him. all the stories of her summer vacation, the place they went to, and everything in between. upon entering their small classroom, a class list could be seen. she checked her name first, to see if she was in the right classroom. after confirming that she was in the right room, she searched for taehyung's.

she was humming to herself as her forefinger slid down the piece of paper stuck on the cream-coloured wall.

“huh?”

‘why isn't taehyung's name here?’ eru asked herself as she sat on any seat she want. some of her classmates were familiar and a few were new but taehyung was nowhere to be seen.

she fiddled her bracelet that taehyung gave her as she waited for him to come. but their first subject has started and their teacher has arrived but still, no taehyung showed up.

she was starting to grow nervous.

eru called one their classmate, sarah.
“have you seen taehyung?”

“no, why?”

“nothing,” eru said as she sighed then looked back at sarah, “why isn't his name written on the class list? did something happen? is he on a different section?”

sarah's forehead creased and her brows met.
“hasn't he told you? taehyung left town to study in the city. i heard he'll be studying there for good. he hasn't told you anything?”

eru was too shocked to say anything.
she felt weird and couldn't utter anything. the only thing that was on her mind was that, ‘why did taehyung never tell me anything about his plans, what's happening, what's the problem, or even his departure'. she could've said goodbye to him. and taehyung should've told her. just to at least say goodbye.

the sad part was that, when eru was just about to start liking him, he was gone.
