~Why do we cook bacon and bake cookies? ~

"Does this make my ass look flat?"
I turned my head to see Léna walking out of the dressing room - which was really a shower curtain stuck to the wall in the corner of the small crammed room - with a simple cream tight fitted dress. She walked in front of the mirror and turned her back to me. She looked at her reflection and made faces at it while I tried to avoid staring at her ass that was placed in front of me.
It certainly didn't look flat.
"Sunshine" I snapped my head to look at Léna who had a look of exhaustion covering her features. I raised my brow at her slouched shoulders. It certainly didn't fit the style of the dress she had on.
"Does it look like I'm rich and always have my nose in the air?" She asked. I furrowed my eyebrows and thought about how I was suppose to answer that until she spoke again.
"Or does it scream 'slutty secretary that's fucking her married boss'? " She asked with he lips twisted to the side. My mouth fell agape while I looked her up and down. I just simply shrugged. She hummed and looked at the price tag on the back.
"Ten quid?!" She exclaimed, stunned. I, on the other hand, stared at her questioning her words.
"What's a quid?" I asked. She looked up at me with a contorted expression. As if I was the mad one. But She's the one going around with the fucked up vocabulary.
"Um, like, dollars, ten quid, ten dollars, same thing" She shrugged. I nodded my head and looked towards the open door to see it nearly fully bright.
This was an eventful night.
I hadn't realised how long I was staring until Léna pulled me out of my trance.
"Are ya coming sunshine?" She asked while putting on a black heel. I nodded my head and she stood up straight. She walked over to the counter and threw seventy dollars on top of it, sending a smile towards the scowling old man. She walked out the door and I glanced back to see the man smirking at the cash. I scoffed and followed her.
"Are ya sure ya didn't wanna get atin'?" She quirked a brow while looking me up and down with a smirk.
"What's wrong with what I have on?" I asked, glancing down at the usual black hoodie, black worn out jeans and rough sneakers that are three sizes too small. I looked back up and met her amused smile.
"Nothing, you look beautiful" She sang. I rolled my eyes and stuffed my hands into my pockets.
"Whatever, let's go"

After getting breakfast and threatening to snap Léna's head off if she didn't let me pay for at least half of the bill, we walked into school. I desperately waited for her to leave my side as people began whispering, but she didn't. She walked through the hallways casually, oblivious to my extreme discomfort of the situation. I used to be angry that she didn't want to be seen around me, but now I wanted nothing more than for her to leave me alone. I didn't expect it to be like this.
"I've gotta get to class, see ya later sunshine" She smiled before walking down the hall, people parting as she did so. I was left standing there relieved, but anxious as people stared at me. They had a look in their eyes that I didn't want to know and now I wished that they would come say whatever they want to my face instead of giving me that look.
