The sound of pitter-patter raindrops was disturbing Aditya with his coding. Aditya Adiga was popularly known as " Solution Giver" amongst his colleagues and friends as he could crack any of the logics within seconds and analyze the problem. Not only analyze them but also come up with optimal solutions. This made him special and unique. Adi was a Software professional with an extreme love for gadgets and technology. Anybody who met Adi could find the spark in his eyes when they spoke about any innovation in the tech field.
Adi was sitting near the window of his room where he had set up his work station. He had a corner table that faced the window for good light and air. He had super speed internet access and a tech-savvy headphone with noise-canceling features which offered him some high-fidelity with good bass which fit over his ears accurately to further improve sound quality. He had a coffee mug on his right and a water bottle kept at his left. The only thing that was bothering him apart from raindrops was a wooden chair he used. It was uncomfortable and old which was making a creaking sound. He had placed a few cushions on them but still was making his back hurt for a long duration of his office work. But the smell of wood was making him remember his dad who had passed away 2 years back.
It was a rainy day, Aditya couldn't reach his native on time due to the bad weather conditions. Sitting in the wooden chair, looking at the raindrops Adi recalled the event at the airport. How rain had made his flight delayed and when he reached the native only thing that he got was a letter from his dad which was placed on the Wooden chair. Ironically no logical reasons could convince him to replace the wooden chair which had memories. Can logics be applied to emotions?
Dev(Devendra) was imagining his farm as the clouds were turning black and moving towards him through the window. He opened his window to watch the postcard-perfect sky turning into gravel grey. Puddles began plinking as the rainfall became heavier and he closed his eyes to imagine his lush green paddy filed which bought a smile on his face. Dev had come to Mumbai a month before to complete his MSc in Agriculture from Mumbai University and was waiting to implement all his theoretical concepts to create the best farm.
Myra was a struggling model who was staying in Mumbai from the age of sixteen. She was sweating when she could hear the noise of thunder marching from far away with increasing tread. A bolt of lightning tore across the sky which reminded her of the way her clothes were torn on that cruel night. She swiftly closed the windowpane and started walking out of her room to a common living place to get a feeling that she was not alone.
Sinchal was just entering the living room after her long day of work as a teacher in a private firm. She was a bubbly lady who loved her profession as it allowed her to be with kids. She was the part of a special tribe of people known as pluviophile's. By definition, pluviophile's are people who love the rain. The scent of a fresh storm and the delicious feel of water dripping down her skin made her feel alive.
All four of them stayed in the same home in Mumbai. The living room was the common place where they used to come across each other but never shared their life stories. Will this rain help them to talk and create friendship?
