All Olivia Taylor wants is to be happy. And it's hard to understand that others seem to not want that for others, or themselves even. She wanted to make her own choices. But her parents, however, did not let her for some reason. I guess to keep control. So to gain some sense of control of her live, Olivia got a job. Which is a good thing for multiple reasons in a persons life. You'd think that it would work, it didn't. Olivia's parents took control of even that, as much as they were able to. Her parents wouldn't let her spend any of the money she had earned except when she paid them back for a car they got her. Which they probably only did because they knew she would be able to pay them back.

The plan was to move out at 18 years old but sometimes plans change. One more month was too long for her in this situation of pain. It may be irresponsible while still in high school still being a minor and all. It is running away. The biggest part that sounds irresponsible was that Olivia quit her job..without telling her parents. Olivia did have a secret second job that she never told anyone about. It's not bad but it's something she didn't want to talk about to others. She wasn't a stripper or anything like that but it became a habit to keep it a secret. Because of what the secret was, it may sound hypocritical that Olivia never liked everyones attention.

Controlling parents wasn't the only reason for doing this. It was only pushing her further and further away from happiness. It was high school, and a boy. That's what it always is, right? Olivia wasn't running away at the first sign of unhappiness. She's stronger than that and can handle that. But everything one after another, all at the same time. It can be hard. This had been going on way too long. She used to be happy, used to trust people. But things have changed. The only thing that seemed to not change was her friend Hailey. Always there for her, maybe not in person, but there. But internet friends can be real friends too. However both had thought of each other as more than just internet friends once they actually met in real life. That made them happy. That sort of thing doesn't happen as often as it should.

But back to the packing part. Olivia had already finished paying her parents back for the car so she felt no guilt for using it to leave. She owned it now. Both parents were at work and her little brother, Oliver, was at school. So she left early that morning as if she was going to school, and then went back home since she knew the house would be empty.

For the past few weeks, she had been selling things she didn't need and donating other things so when she left, she would be able to fit everything in the car. I mean except for furniture. You could say that she had been planning this for a while. Though there are very important things that also should have been planned that weren't. Like school and a place to live.

Understandable, she didn't want to leave without at least saying goodbye to her brother. And obviously, if she said anything to her parents they wouldn't let her leave, they never really showed her much love at all, it's sad. The only attention she got from them was being possessive. But she felt as that she had to say something to Oliver, so even if he did tell their parents, she will already have a head start on the road.

So Olivia drove to his school, he was in middle school. The people in the main office already knew who she was from back when she attended middle school there so she had no problem getting in. She took the visitors pass and took out her phone to check the time. And she knew his schedule and her way around so this wouldn't take long. He would be in second period. The classroom door was open so Olivia softly walked in, "Can I borrow my brother for a minute?"

In the back of her mind she knew she would be asking Hailey if she could stay with her because she knew or at least thought that they would understand. And after crossing two different states, she finally got herself to call and Hailey answered after three things. "Hello?"
