Tati's POV (Talent Show Night)

"Alex, I can't do this," I said as we were in the dressing room getting ready for my act. "I can't do this."

"Yes, you can," said Alexis as she did my hair. "You're fine."

"I'm trusting you on this," I said standing up in my robe.

"Okay, do you want red or white?" asked Alexis.

"White," I said. I put on the white dress that had a white lace overlay with a brown belt. "Okay."

"You look breautiful," said Alexis as she put the denim jacket on me. I put on my brown cowboy boots. "You're beautiful but we're going to have to take this away."

She took off my glasses. "Now I can't see," I said. "Well, kinda."

"Here," said Alexis. I looked at it closely. "Contacts."

"Right," I said putting my contacts on. "Okay." Alexis strapped my guitar on me. "Do I go now?"

"Yes, I'll be out there to record you," said Alexis.

I walked out to enter stage. "Now presenting Tatiyana Lima singing I'd Lie," said the MC.

I walked out onstage and sat on the stool in front of the mic stand. I started playing my guitar. "I don't think that passenger seat has ever looked this good to me," I sang. The CD I had made with other instruments started playing. "He tells me about his night and I count the colors in his eyes. He never falls in love he swears as he runs his fingers through his hair. I'm laughing 'cause I hope he's wrong. And I don't think it ever crossed his mind. He tells a joke, I fake a smile. That I know all his favorite songs." I put my guitar on the stood as I grabbed the microphone. "And I could tell you, his favorite color's green. He loves to argue. Born on the seventeenth." I stood in front of the mic stand. "His mother's beautiful, he has his father's eyes. And if you ask me if I love him, I'd lie." I grabbed the mic stand and put it in front of me. I put the mic on it. "He looks around the room. Innocently over looks the truth. Shouldn't a light go off? Doesn't he know that I've had him memorized for so long?" I walked to thr front of the stage holding the mic. I saw Alexis as she was nodding and recording me. "He sees everything black and white. Never let nobody see him cry. And I don't let nobody see me wishing he was mine!" I walked to the other side of the stage. "I could tell you, his favorite color's green. He loves to argue. Born on the seventeenth." I looked at Drew and smiled. "His mother's beautiful, he has his father's eyes. And if you ask me if I love him, I'd lie." I walked to the other side of the stage and looked right out the camera Alexis was recording me. "He stands there, then walks away. My God if I could only say. I'm holding every breath for you." I walked back to the middle of the stand. "He'd never tell you but he can play guitar." I walked to the side of the stage Drew was sitting in front of. "I think he can see through everything but my heart. First thought when I wake up, is my God he's beautiful. So I put on my makeup and pray for a miracle." I walked back to the middle of the stage. "Yes, I could tell you, his favorite color's green. He loves to argue. Oh and it kills me." I put my mic on the stand and put my guitar back on and started playing. "His mother's beautiful, he has his father's eyes. And if you ask me if I love him. if you as me if I love him, I'd lie." I played the last chords as the lights went off. I went backstage and walked into the dressing room. Alexis was there. "Whew."

"You did amazing," said Alexis as I closed the door.

"Let's go watch the next act," I said.

"I got a few more acts before I can get ready," said Alexis.

"Alright," I said as we took out seats in the front row.

"Here's After Romeo," said the MC.

"Must be a new boyband," said Alexis.

"Typical," I said.

TC's POV

We walked onstage. I saw Alexis and Tatiyana. They looked at us shocked. "Hey guys," I said. "I'm TC Carter, captain of the basketball team."

"Jayk Purdy," said Jayk. "Quarterback of the football team."

"I'm Drew Ryan Scott," said Drew. "I am part of the music program."

"Blake English," said Blake. "I'm the captain of the varsity dance squad."

"And I'm Devin," said Devin. "Leader of the choir ensemble."

"And we're going to sing you one of our songs we wrote ourselves," I said. "It's called Free Fall. We hope you enjoy it."

The music started. "I'm standing on the edge and I'm looking to the ground," sang Devin. "I got caught inside of the madness on a constant run around."

"It's a new day, new day. Its a rat race, rat race," sang Drew. "I'm in no shape, no place to just walk away, walk away."

"I'm so high, yeah. I gotta take a plunge," we sang. "I'm so high, yeah. I gotta take the jump gotta free fall." We paused. "Don't be scared to free fall." We danced. "Gotta free fall."

"Don't care how the story ends or if the future turns me down," sang Blake as he looked at Alexis. "I can't change tomorrow's events so I gotta live right now."

"It's a new day, new day. Its a rat race, rat race," I sang.

"F-f-fly through the skies. Sunny day and sexy nights," rapped Jayk. "Spent my life in the back of the line. Now I'm ready for the front I'm just passing by."

"Lights gonna say my name," sang Blake, TC, Drew, and I. "I'm walking on an open flame."

"If you need me, not going to miss," rapped Jayk. "You can't hold us back 'cause we fly."

We had a dance interlude for a while and then we started singing again. "I'm so high, yeah. I gotta take a plunge," we sang. "I'm so high, yeah. I gotta take the jump gotta free fall." We paused. "Don't be scared to free fall." We danced. "Gotta free fall." The music ended.

The audience cheered. "Thank you," I said. "And remember, be you." We walked backstage and bumped into Alexis and Tatiyana. "How'd you get back here so fast?"

"Right after you guys sang the last chorus," said Tatiyana.

"Is this your idea of fixing things, Jayk?" asked Alexis.

"Kinda telling people to be who they are and go for their dreams," said Jayk. "Which is what I've been trying to tell you."

"We have our own ways of fixing things," said Tatiyana. "Let's get you ready for your performance."

"Right," said Alexis as they got into the dressing room.

"Well, let's go watch Alexis' performance," I said. "Tatiyana did great. So, Alexis must be great too."
