"Me?"
"Yup." She sounded so sure of herself, as if the whole world revolved around her. "He told me about the bet."
"What bet?"
"That you'd get me to kiss you by Christmas." She looked annoyed, but nowhere close to how annoyed I felt. Fuck, what was her name again? "That you were only befriending me to play me for a fool."
For a second, the sunlight was unbearable. It wasn't a good idea, drinking on a weekday. "Okay, then."
You'd think a guy would be left alone after telling the girl the truth. "That's it?"
Shrugging, I pulled my sweatshirt down, hoping she'd leave me alone with an honest answer. "You were pretty that first day. He told me I couldn't have you."
This irked her. "He?"
"Surya."
She nodded, as if it made all the sense in the world. "Okay."
Shrugging, I hopped on my feet, annoyed that I was still at the parking lot. "My class starts in five minutes."
"We're not done talking!"
Boy, did she make a whole load of demands. "Unfortunate."
