WELCY BLINK WHEN the doctor said so. She's in the ophthalmologist right now because her left eye started to sting yesterday and she was told to have it checked.
"Leave it a day or two, it will be okay. I suggest you wear eyepatch for the meantime so that it will protect your eye from the infection."
Welcy smile and nod. "Oh, okay, Doc. Thank you."
"Is she allowed to wear contact lenses by that time?" Ate Penny ask, one of their handlers.
"Yes," the doctor replied and smile.
"Okay. Atleast alam natin. Thank you, Doc. Are we done?"
"Yeah, you're good to go. If you feel something, you're free to comeback anytime."
Nagpasalamat sila muli dito bago sila lumabas. Isinuot na niya ang eyepatch na ibinigay ng doktor sa kanya at agad na pumasok sila sa kotse.
"May schedule pa kayo mamaya. Magmumukha kang pirata niyan," ani Ate Penny at saka natawa ng magaan.
Welcy laugh as well. "Atleast I'm still pretty, ate."
"Oo naman, lalo pa't magaling kang magdala," anito at ngumiti.
Natawa na lang siya at hindi na nagkomento pa. Tiningnan niya ang sarili sa powder mirror at tahimik na napabuga ng hangin.
Bigla lang kasi nangati at humapdi ang mata niya kaya dinala na niya iyon sa resident ophthalmologist ng company na si Doctor Jenny Lee.
Bahagya siyang napaigtad nang tumunog ang cellphone niya at dahil nakavibrate rin iyon.
Kinuha niya iyon sa bulsa ng pantalon niya at napangiti siya nang makita kung sino ang tumatawag.
"Hi, hon!" she greeted with hyped tone.
"Hon! Are you in the hospital right now? What happened? Are you alright? Tell me where, I'll rush in."
Natawa siya dahil sa bungad nito sa kanya.
"Why are you laughing? I'm worried here!"
"Will you calm down?"
"How can I calm down? Seriously-"
"Wala ako sa hospital. Sino ba nagsabi sayo?"
"JM said Sandy told him na nagpacheck up ka daw. Hindi na ako nagdalawang-isip na tumawag as soon as nalaman ko yun. I called you right away. And then pagtatawanan mo lang ako? Unbelievable."
Welcy laugh at JD. "Yes, I went to see our resident eye doctor. Nangati at humapdi kasi yung mata ko so I had to go."
Bumuntong-hininga ito sa kabilang linya. "Kinabahan naman ako. But how is your eye? Are you okay? What did the doctor said?"
Muli siyang napangiti dahil sa tono na ginamit nito. Oh how she misses him so much!
"I'm okay. Nagamot naman na and I just have to wear eyepatch para maiwasan yung irritation."
"Are you sure?" he ask, worry is still on his voice.
"Yeah, don't worry too much."
"Pinag-alala mo ko, alam mo ba yun? Halos sumabog na yung puso ko!"
Welcy gently laugh. "I'm totally okay. Kalma ka lang diyan."
JD sigh that made her smile widely. Kapag may hindi maganda itong naririnig tungkol sa kanya ay lagi itong praning. And that's the reason why she loves him more and more.
"Are you busy? Di ba my concert kayo ngayon?" tanong niya, pag-iiba ng usapan para hindi na ito mag-alala pa sa kanya.
"Yeah, last concert na. We're having lunch," he replied.
"Oh, okay. That's great, good luck sa inyo."
"Thank you. I miss you so much."
"I miss you too," she replied and smile when Ate Penny look at her.
"See you soon, ingat ka. I love you."
"Ikaw din. I love you too," she said and smile again.
Lihim siyang napabuga ng hangin ng matapos ang pag-uusap nila. Mahigit dalawang buwan na niyang hindi nakikita ang mag-ama niya.
Sammy's two and is growing fast and is just so handsome. Sa videocalls lang niya ito nakikita kapag tumatawag ang ina ng asawa dahil ito ang nag-aalaga sa bata dahil sa mga busy scheduled nila nitong mga nakaraang araw at buwan.
Ilang sandali pa ay nakarating na sila ng dorm. Nagulat ang mga members niya nang makapasok siya dahil sa suot niyang eyepatch.
"Okay ka lang? Ano'ng sabi ni Doc Jen?" tanong ni Ate Ivine.
"I'm okay, ate. Nagamot naman na, I just need to wear this para hindi maimpeksyon," nakangiting wika niya.
"So you can't wear contacts?" Sandy ask.
"I can."
"Baka makakasama," sabi pa nito.
"Doc Jen gave me permission. Don't worry."
Tumango na lang ito.
"You look like a pirate," Yassy tease that made them laugh.
"Atleast I'm pretty," she said and flip her hair.
"Ok, pretty pirate. Kumain na lang tayo, nagutom na ako," ani Jane at saka tumungo ng kusina.
"Buntis ka ba? Lagi kang gutom," biro ni Yassy rito kaya natawa sila.
"Shut it, I'm not," Jane said and laugh as well.
Sinamahan na nila ang dalawa at masaya silang nagsalo sa hapag-kainan.
