Dedicated to @horiz0ns for the amazing cover. She's an amazing cover designer and new to wattpad. Go check out her story Perfect Mistakes, it's a pretty cool story.

This is my first actual story on here, so I hope you like it. I just want people to know that this isn't your typical werewolf rejection and pregnant book. I have a series of four books (as of right now) planned out. There is an actual plot line to this series.

•Summer of 1986•

It was meant to be a peaceful night. Three wolves patrolled the territory while the rest slept. It had only been a few hours after midnight, long after everyone had gone to sleep, that gun shots pierced the quiet night air. Up until that point, all that was heard was squirrels jumping from branch to branch and the soft songs of the crickets. And then, the night air was shattered, the veil of quietness was shredded and then, chaos erupted.

"Honey, you need to go, now!" He pushed his wife towards the car that he knew would safely take his wife, daughter and son to safety.

"I can't leave without you, please?" She cried to her husband, clutching their son in her arms. Their daughter hung tightly to her pant leg trying to block out the gun shots that rang through the air.

He shook his head, "I promise, once you're to safety I'll come find you. Everything will be all right." He comforted his wife and placed a kiss on their son's head. He kneeled down and placed a kiss on his daughter's cheek.

"Don't you lie to me." She choked on her sob.

"Nothing will ever take me away from you," He promised.  "Now go, please?" He pleaded with her.

She reluctantly nodded and hurried to the car that would take them to safety. Their daughter, having let go of her pant leg, stood still as she gazed at the war. She watched the bullets fly and men and women fall to the ground. The little girl was only three and just an hour ago she was tucked into her bed and sleeping soundly. Now the war had reached them, they found them. The little girl went to reach for her mother but found her gone. She looked around her and found that she was alone, her family gone.

The panic set in and the girl ran off to find her mother, little brother and father. But what she was met with was a loud explosion, sending her backwards with painful force. The car her mother and little brother had gotten into was blown to pieces, their body's encased with fire and burning before her eyes. The little girl, unable to move, watched in horror as the world she once knew, burned around her. Her head spinning and her ears ringing, she could do nothing. A soft sob echoed through the night.

"Momma?" She cried, tears silently falling down her cheeks.

"No," Her father whispered, coming up behind her. He fell beside his daughter, tears slipping down his cheeks. "NO!" He roared with anger and despair, his cries ripping through the forest.

He quickly grabbed his daughter after saying his final goodbyes to his wife and son. He took off, dashing into the forest. He held his daughter tightly to him as he tried to escape the chaos that exploded behind them. The war was lost, his pack gone, but his daughter was still here. He knew why they were here, and he knew he had to warn the others. But the loss of his wife and mate, his beloved Vera was far to much too bear. And the son he only had the chance to know for a year, his Roman. They were gone and all he had left was his daughter. He'd protect her with his life. And to do that, he knew, he'd never be able to warn the others.

He kept running, gaining speed and distance from the chaos. But it didn't last as a shot rang through the air. The bullet pierced the man right through his chest. For a moment he stood shocked before falling to the ground, his daughter still in his grasp. A man with a cruel sneer emerged from the forest. A long jagged scar running down the side of his face. "Well, if it isn't the all powerful Drago Grigio. Not so powerful now with a wolfsbane bullet lodged in your chest, now are you?"
