“How many times have I told you? Go away, lapdog. I don’t want your company.”
Every time, these were the lines his response went along. Red Wine despised him; so why was he trying so hard to win his heart?
Damn... I must be desperate, Steak thought. What am I doing with myself...?
“What are you standing there gawking for?” Red Wine spat. “Run along back to your master!”
For a rare moment, Steak's stoicism broke, and, with a sly smile, he ran straight towards Red Wine, pinning him against the wall.
Red Wine's face contorted in utter shock. He didn’t know what to think. A blush crept across his pale face as he managed to stammer out a sentence: “W... What are you... Doing...? I said to run back to your ma-“
A look of realisation flashed across his face. His face twisted into disgust, but the blush never left his cheeks. “A-and what makes you think you’re d-deserving of me?”
Steak pulled off of Red Wine and genuflected in front of him, his arm resting on his outstretched knee and his head bowed. “I don’t,” he said, “but, if you’d have me, I’d give you my body, my swords, my very being; I’d give you all except my heart, because you have that already.”
Red Wine was taken aback by this. Had someone put Steak up to this? This was utterly out of character for him. Did someone know about the secret feelings he’d harboured for Steak all this time, the feelings he hid behind contempt, hoping that one day he'd've fooled himself long enough to believe it? “I...”
Steak seemed to slump, even as he was genuflecting. “...I see. You don’t believe me. Then, let me prove it to you.” Steak removed the lighter one of his two swords from its sheath, and held it with its hilt as close to his wrist as he could. Red Wine immediately recognised what he was about to do and swatted the sword out of Steak's hand as one would swat a fly.
“Enough,” he said. “Don’t do that. That’s an order from your master.”
Steak looked up at Red Wine with tears in his eyes and a full-faced smile. Red Wine looked down at him with a condescending smirk whose intentions were belied by a soft blush across his cheeks. “Up,” Red Wine said, and Steak complied.
“How about... We take this somewhere more private, and you show me just how saucy a steak can be?”
Red Wine held Steak close, and Steak shuddered. “That depends on one thing, Master...”
“What’s that?”
“How rare do you like your steak?”
“Oooooh, bloody and raw. Just like you’re going to be soon.”
Steak shuddered again and blushed. This was going to be a good night.Elsewhere, a blonde man in a dark pastel purple suit looked over his round, brown-tinted sunglasses at the scene below him and smiled. “Another satisfied customer of Satan's Coffee Shop. I’m sure this flavour will linger for eternity for those two.”
