Once Upon A Time: I Fell With Someone Like You

Prologue

White, that's what she saw the moment she opened her eyes.

Confused, she sat up using her elbows for support, finally taking in the surrounding. She was on a hospital bed, she realized after seeing nurses coming back and forth aquamarine curtains attending to fellow patients. Standing up, letting her cerulean hair to flow from her shoulders deciding to ask one of the nurses if she was ok to come home.

"Excuse me."

No reply.

She tried again raising a pail index finger in attempt to tap the nurse's shoulder in hopes to achieve the latter's attention.

"Excuse me, may..."

Her finger slipped.

What?!

Wide eyed, she tried again using the palm of her hand.

Like before, her whole hand and wrist went past through the nurse's shoulder.

Horrified, she lifted her hand to look at her palm wondering what in the world was going on. When she felt someone passed through her own body.

Panic started to rise though her system as she started to yell for help. Hoping that somebody, anybody to hear her. But just like any other day, nobody did. Not even a glance, nobody felt her presence. Realization finally dawned to her. The memory of rain crashed to her mind.

The cold, that entered her whole body making her weak, joined with the pain in her chest caused by the people she thought were special.

Hesitantly, she turned to the bed where she woke up.

Her body crashing down the cold stoned sidewalk. Icy flesh clashing against hard cement.

A tear started to form her misty eyes, as she lifted both hands to cover her mouth.

The blackening of her vision. The shriek of a near passerby after witnessing her fall. The sound of siren.

A sob escaped her quivering lips with the realization.

Followed by complete darkness.

She was dead.

She stared in horror, gazing at her lifeless form denying the sight over and over again.
