Gwen's POV
"Can you hand me a spatula please?"
"Yes, mommy."
Rosetta went to the kitchen quickly and came back with a spatula on her hand.
"Thank you, sweetheart."
She nodded and helped me arrange the table. She's helping me place the silverwares and the plates. Kaninang umaga pa siya hindi mapakali. She'd been so active in helping us prepare maybe because she was excited for her dad to come.
May mga maids naman but I wanted to help too. Besides, it was my daughter's request for Aaron to come so I felt like I needed to be part of the preparation.
"Did we cook daddy's favorite?"
I smiled because she was making sure again. Hindi niya talaga nakakalimutan. Kagabi niya pa sakin sinabi yan na ipagluto ang daddy niya ng paborito nitong beef steak. Yun parin pala ang paborito niya.
Akmang sasagot na sana ako nung dumating si Manang Daisy. "Ito na ang beef steak na request ng alaga ko."
"Yay!" Rosetta said clapping her hands.
"Thank you, manang," pasalamat ko kasi siya ang nag-volunteer na magluto ng beef steak. Masarap si manang magluto. Gusto ko ang luto niya kaya natutuwa ako pag siya ang nagluluto ng ulam namin.
Ilang sandali ay dumating si mommy na ayos na ayos na. Tumulong din siya sa paghahanda ng mga pagkain.
"Where's dad, mom?"
"Andon pa sa kwarto. Nagpapagwapo ata para sa darating na bisita." Mom laughed a little. She liked teasing dad.
Saktong kakatapos lang namin mag-ayos nung bumaba si dad.
"Ang dami niyo namang hinanda. Are we gonna eat all of these? Isa lang naman ang bisita natin at hindi naman yun gaano ka special. We're wasting food."
"At kailan kapa nag-alala sa pagsasayang ng pagkain, aber?" Mom raised her eyebrow.
Napailing ako. Here we go, dad was being vocal again of how much he hated Aaron.
Hindi nalang sumagot si dad kay mommy dahil malamang ay ayaw nito makipagtalo. Naupo nalang siya sa usual niyang pwesto pag kumakain kami, sa kabisera.
"Maam, nandito na po ang bisita ninyo. Nandito na po si Sir Aaron."
"Daddy!" sabi agad ni Rosetta at tumakbo papunta sa pinto bago pa man ako nakagalaw. Nakita ko nalang na yakap niya na ang kakapasok lang na si Aaron.
Automatic kong inayos ang dress na suot ko. I unconsciously ran my hand on my hair and tucked some strands of it behind my ear.
Ngumiti ako nung napatingin siya sa akin. "Hi. Halika dito tuloy ka. Feel comfortable. Mom and dad are here waiting." I guided Aaron to where we were going. He followed and walked towards where my parents were.
"Hi, tito and tita. How are you po?" Bati nito sa parents ko as he approached them. "I brought dessert for us."
"Salamat. Akin na, ipapa-serve ko mamaya sa maid for dessert," mom said and grabbed the box from Aaron.
Aaron faced my dad. Dad was just sitting quietly and looking away from Aaron.
"Grandpa, meet my daddy. His name is Aaron Loyzaga. Isn't he handsome?" Rosetta giggled and smiled at her dad.
Ang anak ko talaga sobra kung maka-build up sa ama niya. It was obvious that she liked her dad so much.
"I have met him already, Rose," dad answered, still looking away.
