Jack stood in front of the drink cooler, debating which energy drink to buy. He had drove to the 7/11 a couple blocks away from his house to get away from his alcoholic father who treated him terribly. Jack's mother had died when he was young, and that's when his father began drinking. His dad was constantly abusing him, physically and emotionally.

He decided on a Monster and walked over to the register.

"Uh, Can I get a pack of Marlboro's?" Jack asked, checking out the large green cashier.

"ID please?"

He shivered at the sound of the cashier's deep voice and handed over his ID.

"Thank you." The cashier said, handing the ID back to Jack.

He eyed the name tag, which read "Shrek." Jack paid for his stuff and urged himself to say something to the handsome ogre.

"So, um, Shrek," He managed. "Are you doing anything tomorrow night?" Shrek seemed surprised at Jack's interest in him.

"I'm free," He replied cooly.

Jack fidgeted, he was so nervous. It was just something about Shrek.

"Do you think, ah, We could-"

"Want to come over to my place?" Shrek interrupted.

"I'd love to." Jack felt a huge grin grow on his face. Shrek wrote something down on Jack's receipt and placed it in his bag.

"Thank you for shopping at 7/11, come again soon."
