"Hello." I greeted Stefan as I sat on the seat beside him.
He averted his gaze from the window and looked at me in surprise, as if he wasn't expecting me to talk to him. Poor guy, he must be so used to people running away from him.
"Hey," He breathed in a low voice, a small smile on his face. He took off his red headphones and placed it on the desk, and whilst he did so I took the chance to survey him.
What I found funny, was that he looked nothing like what you'd expect the 'most notorious boy in town' to look like. He didn't wear leather jackets, didn't smoke at the back of buildings (instead, he read books behind them), and he didn't ride a motorbike. He wasn't a jerk either — In fact, all I'd seen from him so far, was normality. Well, if you didn't count his incredible intellect, that is. He was more of a misunderstood outcast.
Though, I must admit that his insanely good looks was also an exception to his normality. Today he wore a white oversized hoodie and light-grey nike trackpants, and his dark-brown hair was tousled. His entire existence was just effortless beauty.
Unconsciously, I rested my chin on my palm as I watched him dazedly. Wow, I could stare at him all day.
"Why don't you take a picture? It'll last longer."
That wasn't Stefan. In fact, Stefan didn't even realise I was gazing at him until the jerkface sitting in front of us spoke. With my cheeks on fire, I averted my eyes away from Stefan embarrassedly and turned my head to Zero.
"Still butthurt about getting owned yesterday, are you?" I spat through my clenched teeth. "I mean, what other reason would there be for you to suddenly start talking to me in class?"
Zero gritted his teeth together, and shifted his body on his seat to fully face me. "Listen up, you second-ranked nerd—"
"—You better stop there." Stefan calmly spoke. Just like that, Zero shut his mouth and shot me a quick death glare before spinning back around.
Wow, I guess holding the title of the 'Baddest Boy in Town' sure had its perks.
I began unpacking my bag, not daring to look at Stefan. How embarassing! I was openly staring at him and I got caught! Damn you Zero — and Stefan for his unnecessarily attractive face!
Where is Mrs Louise? Things would've been much less awkward if she could have begun biology class already.
Stefan leaned towards me, causing me to grow very tense. "I didn't know you had such a backbone." I could practically feel the smile on his face.
"Uh, yeah. Me neither until yesterday." I awkwardly replied, still not looking at him. "I've learnt from the best."
"Ah... Zara Aldi, right?"
From the mention of Zara, Zero visibly tensed up in front of us.
My eyes uncontrollably shot to his in surprise. "You know her?"
Stefan raised a brow at me. "Doesn't everybody? She's created quite a reputation for herself."
I had a gut feeling that he wasn't telling me the full truth...Then again I also had a gut feeling that I would be rank-number-one once again this year and well, we all know how that turned out.
