Vik, Rose and Josh were all sitting on the couch in the spare room downstairs when Vik spoke.

"How about we have a party? To welcome back Ro?" he suggested, his head resting on Josh's lap. Rose shuffled uncomfortably in her seat and didn't speak. She didn't want people to see her at the moment, not when she was still upset over the fact the boy she loved had lied and broke promises that meant everything to her.

"I don't mind," hummed Josh as he nodded, "Rose?"

Rose had nodded before she could even stop herself, Vik grinning and jumping from Josh's lap to tell the others. Rose clenched her jaw tightly and stared at the wall, trying to think of a way out of the party.

Josh sat on the sofa, confused to why his friend looked like she was trying to levitate something that wasn't there. Unless she was trying to levitate the whole room which he was sure she wasn't trying to do.

"Rose? Are you okay?" Josh asked as he shifted across the couch closer to Rose. The girl stared into space for a second more before turning to Josh and smiling weakly.

"I'm fine, just a bit out of it today," she lied. Josh didn't fall for it but said nothing, hoping Rose would sort things out on her own.

Josh sighed and got up from the sofa, placing a hand on Rose's shoulder. Then, he left the room and Rose was left staring where he'd been stood.

Rose never thought Harry would be one to break her heart. Over the past year, he'd always been telling her he'd loved her, telling her it was boring without her there. She'd believed everything, dreamed about coming back because of him.

Rose had thought she'd come back and they'd be together, love and cherish each other like married couples do, because it felt like that to her. To her, she and Harry were madly in love. Maybe, just maybe, she was wrong, and Harry had said those things out of sympathy?

Maybe Harry had never loved her and was playing the same game as Simon.

Rose couldn't help herself as she literally crumbled in on herself and let out a sob. It was one of those dry sobs, the sobs that don't let out any tears because you've cried too much. The sobs that hurt your throat and eyes. The sobs that show heart break more than tears ever could.

Rose didn't know she'd fallen asleep until she was being shaken away by JJ, his face scrunched up in concern.

"Rose, you've been crying..." he mumbled, and Rose let out a long and deep exhale, pushing herself into a sitting position. JJ kept an eye on her as she rubbed her eyes, stretching her stiff back.

"I was having a good cry, so what? What did you wake me for?" Rose muttered, and JJ raised an eyebrow, happy there was at least some life in the younger girl.

"The party is about to start so get ready," he said before ruffling up Rose's already messy hair and departing from the room. Rose groaned and stood from the coach, her body still stiff and her body begging for sleep once more.

"Your stuff is in Vik's room," JJ told her before leaving Rose to get ready.

Rose groaned again as she left the room and trudged up the stairs to Vik's room. On her way across the hallway, Rose couldn't help but sneak a look into Simon's room.

Memories rushed back to her; the way the bedsheets felt like clouds, the way the bed sunk and moulded to your shape. Rose couldn't help the images of Simon's hands draped around her bare figure, his lips against her neck, his eyes memorising her body whilst she lay underneath him.

Rose quickly shook her head and rushed to Vik's room, slamming the door behind her. Taking a deep breath, Rose closed her eyes and tried to calm herself before she got upset. She didn't know why it hurt so much, to see Simon's bedroom. She was over him, she'd spent a year getting over him. She'd gotten over him. Hadn't she?

MUCH shorter chapter this time but I'm trying not to make the same mistakes as the first book where it went too fast.
