chapter 13

"What do you mean he's dead?!" Taehyung asked shocked. "Well it says here Wren Jisung died in a ship wreck 13 years ago. He was a very famous scientist actually. Most of his studies were how to make the human race stronger." Mr.Kim tried to explain but was interrupted by Jimin before he could finish. "What do you mean make the human race stronger?"

   "Well he says like super strength and heightened senses that kind of stuff." He answers. "So like superpowers?" Jungkook asks. "Yeah I guess so, well anyways he said he was inspired by seeing how people can do things when they're in a tough situation. Like when a mom and her son got in a car crash and the son was trapped under the car, the mom had so much adrenaline running through her she was actually able to lift the car up. Which usually isn't possible. There's many other cases like this." They all had a surprised expression from that.

   "Woah I didn't know normal people could do that." Hoseok said shocked. "Dr.Wren wanted to see if people could go to that kind of adrenaline state or whatever at will. He wanted to see if he could make people kind of get superpowers like Jungkook said. He was going to Japan with a couple other people where they could study more about this, but something went wrong with the boat. Nobody could find their bodies or the boat."

   Namjoon starts rubbing his head from being frustrated. "Ah everything's too crazy, how is he alive then?" he asks. "I don't even know bud, but i'm gonna try to find out more when I go to work tomorrow." Mr.Kim then says. They all hang out for a bit more before they have to start going home. After Namjoon goes upstairs Mr.Kim takes out the anonymous letter he got while he was at work.

   Stop trying to find him and just give up. Learn your place before you regret it.

   Namjoon's dad just looked at the note confused. This person was obviously talking about Yoongi and threatening him. Mr.Kim sighs and throws the note away. He'll just have to be more careful.

The next day ...

   Yoongi sits in his room eating his lunch. Jaeyong is sitting beside him waiting for Yoongi to talk to him but all he gets is silence.
Yoongi wasn't as mad as before. But he was still a little pissed off. They were just pictures, so why couldn't Jaeyong just do that one thing for him.

   But the awkward silence was definitely killing him. Jaeyong couldn't just leave the room either, because he has to stay with him from 11:00-1:00. He wanted to talk to Jaeyong so bad, just to forget about everything. But he didn't even know what to say.

   "I'm sorry." Yoongi mumbles. He wasn't really sorry, but he needed something to say. "I know you don't mean that." Jaeyong replies with a chuckle. "But that's alright you have nothing to be sorry for." Yoongi just gives a small smile to that.

   "So how was training this morning?" Jaeyong asked. "Fucking stupid, as always." Yoongi replies and Jaeyong laughs. "Since i'm an A rank all the trainers hate me because I beat their asses at tests. It's so annoying. And today I kind of lost control and got in trouble for that." Yoongi replies sounding embarrassed from the last sentence.

   "What'd you do?" Jaeyong sighs out. "When I was practicing with my powers away from everyone, Jess thought it would be funny to cut me with one of her vines. So when she did I got pissed and kind of frosted up the whole room by accident and Jess was frozen in my ice. Dr.Wren came and was all annoyed like whatever Jess fucking started it." Yoongi explained annoyed.

   "God you kids are so immature." Jaeyong says. "Hey i'm not a kid."

   "Yeah sure, anyways it's 1:00 so I gotta go. I'll see you later." Jaeyong says with a smile while ruffling up Yoongi's hair. He then heads out his door and locks it. Yoongi throws his plate away and reads a book. While he was reading it he hears a stretcher rolling in the hallway. Being curious, he puts his book down and goes up to his door. There's a window at the top so he can look through it.

   On the stretcher is a boy who looked to be around 17. Yoongi didn't know his name, but he saw him in the training room sometimes so he knew he had electricity as his power, and was an A rank. He was passed out and he knew they were heading over to the experimentation room. He was getting a test done.

   Yoongi gulped and sat back down on his bed, feeling worried for what would happen to the boy. It was maybe 30 minutes later when Yoongi felt a huge shock go through his body and all the lights shut off.

   Hoseok and everyone else sat in the library just chilling out. They all had a free period so they just chose to hang out in the library and talk. "This looks like Jin hyung." Taehyung says while laughing, pointing at an ugly animal on his phone. "I don't look like that!" Jin shouts which earns him a glare from the librarian.

   Then all the lights suddenly shut off. All of them looked at each other scared and got up. "Oh my god is there a school shooter or something?" Jungkook asked scared. "Let's just wait for an announcement." Hoseok says. After a couple minutes the principle comes on the intercom. "We're having some trouble with the lights and we don't really know what's going on. We called the police and they think we should send all the students home just in case. So everyone contact your parents now and see if you can get a ride home." He says.

   "FUCK YEAHH!" Jimin yells excited. That's exactly what they were all thinking. "How about everyone comes over my house?" Hoseok asks. He felt like they shouldn't waste this opportunity and have some fun. "Yeah I'll ask right now." they all say and call their parents. All their parents say yes even though Jungkook's took some convincing.

   They all head to Hoseoks house. When they get there Hoseok goes to turn the lights on, but they didn't work. "What." he says to himself still trying to turn them on. "What is it?" Jimin asks. "The lights aren't working." he explains. He guesses maybe somethings just wrong with that light, but it's the same with all the lights in the house. The power must've gone out. It would be normal if it was winter, but it's the start of summer. And don't schools have generators? Why didn't they just use the generator?

   They just sit in the living room and open all the curtains. They put on music since there's not much else to do. They sing and dance and just wait for the time to pass by. Then Hoseoks dad comes home early. "Why are you home so early?" Hoseok asks confused.

   "The power went out, and none of the electronics would work, so they just sent us home." He said.

   The power went out at his work too?

   "My phone has been really slow." Namjoon says. "Yeah mine keeps freezing it's getting annoying." Jimin says with a pout. Suddenly all the lights turn on. "Oh the powers back." Hoseok says. "I'm gonna turn the news on to see what the hells going on." Hoseoks dad says then turns the TV on. There was breaking news going so they all watch it.

   "At 1:30 all the power shut off through the whole country. Schools and many work places closed. The police have no idea what's going on. Many people have said during this time while the power was out, their electronics were not working correctly. That's all we have for now but we'll get back to you once we get more information." She says before it goes back to the show that was on before.

   "The whole country?!" Jungkook asked surprised. "Holy shit." Taehyung whispers.

   Yoongi woke up and slowly got up from the ground, his head was pounding.

   What the fuck I passed out?

   He held his head and went to his door to look in the hall. He saw nothing but he saw the person across from him waking up too. They both stared at each other before looking down the hallway. Yoongi noticed lights were back on too. He heard the stretcher rolling towards him and people running. Even though it went by fast he still saw it.

   The body that was on the stretcher was covered by a white cloth. The person under it was obviously dead but Yoongi couldn't see their face. But he didn't miss the arm that was slipped out from under the cloth. It was shriveled up and black with splotches of red.

   Yoongi felt like he was gonna throw up from looking at the burnt arm. He couldn't even imagine what the rest of the body looked like. He slid down against the door and held his head in his hands.

   Dr.Wren has really lost it.
