A teenage boy was slumped in a beanbag chair in his room, his name was Milo. He had messy brown hair, pale skin, and dull icey blue eyes with bags sunken beneath them. His room was small, the dull white walls decorated with various posters from the boy's favorite movies over the years. One of the walls slanted down over his bed, a large sheet nailed to the side of the sloped wall acting as a curtain. Behind it a window cast dawn light onto his bed and provided a veiw of the city below.
The rest of the room was plain; clothes scattered around the floor, and a desk pushed against a wall across from the bed, it's chair pulled out with a pile of clothes messily dropped onto it. Behind Milo there was a large window, it's curtains pulled closed, creating a barrier between him and the rest of the world and letting barely any light into the dim room; in front of him was a small box tv, the screen was fuzzy and the the side of the box was developing a crack in it. An old nentendo 64 sat in front of it, the controllers laying on the floor next to it along with a stack of game cartrages.
Milo sighed and leaned over the back of the faded green chair, his head hanging over the back of the chair. He set his phone down and looked at the cealing, watching as his cealing fan quickly rotated, shaking slightly as it did so. He closed his eyes, as he felt sleep begin to drag him off into it's embrace he heard a knock on the door.
" Who is it?" he asked, opening one eye drowsily.
"It's mom," Responed the cheerful voice," Open the door sweetie i have something to tell you!"
Milo sighed and stood up slowly, dragging his feet as he walked to the door, he unlocked it and grabbed the cold handle, he opened the door and looked out at his mother, almost certain he could see a flash of concern in her eyes at the sight of him.
"What'd you need to tell me?" He asked with a yawn.
"oh," She replied, as if she just remembered what she was going to say,"I wanted to tell you that I invited that new boy to your birthday party on wenesday."
Milo felt his stomach drop, he didn't even know this kid, there was no way he would feel even remotely comfortable around this kid. The new kids name was Ren, this much he knew; but other then that he didn't really know much else. He hadn't even seen him at school, Ren had moved in on the day before, on Friday. So all anyone really knew about him was his name.
He nodded slowly, still prossecing the idea of this random kid being in his house in 4 days.
" ok sweetie," his mom said, her tone gentle and concerned," just let me know if you need anything."
Milo watched as she walked away and closed the door. he looked around his room, still unshure what to think about Ren coming to his house, would he be in his room? Milo shook his head, no way. he walked over to the sheet blocking his bed, shoving it aside as he flopped down on his bed with a sigh. He reached over to his phone and plucked it off the charger. He scrolled through the apps until he found the one he was looking for, facebook. He tapped on it and went to the search bar and typed "Ren" he froze what's his last name? "shit..." he muttered under his breath. Milo sighed and hit the search button.
After hours of scrolling he gave up, he didn't know which one was the ren that would be in his house soon. He dropped his phone onto the bed and fell asleap.
