Nico di Angelo climbed up onto his bunk in the cabin of Hades, hanging his aviator jacket and sword on the wall. Everything was quiet, which was a bonus about living in it; no one ever went in there besides him. He laid on his back and arched his knees, sticking his hand under his pillow. He pulled out a black monster-proof (courtesy of Leo Valdez) iPhone 5 with black earbuds connected. He unwrapped it's wires and went to his music app and began playing hiss favorite play list. Nico put in the ear buds and let himself melt away into his music for the time being. Demons by Imagine Dragons began playing as he blinked slowly.

When the days are cold

And the cards all fold

And the saints we see

Are all made of gold

When your dreams all fail

And the ones we hail

Are the worst of all

And the blood's run stale

I wanna hide the truth

I wanna shelter you

But with the beast inside

There's nowhere we can hide

No matter what we breed

We still are made of greed

This is my kingdom come

This is my kingdom come

When you feel my heat

Look into my eyes

It's where my demons hide

It's where my demons hide

Don't get too close

It's dark inside

It's where my demons hide

It's where my demons hide

When the curtain's call

Is the last of all

When the lights fade out

All the sinners crawl

So they-

A flood of thoughts and emotions spewed into Nico's mind, and he instantly shut off his phone. This always seemed to happen when he listened to that song.

Nico wanted to hide that fact that he was much more capable then what he's done before in front of other demigods. He wanted to shelter the others, fore he could kill them easily with one wrong temper. He was a beast, he was a monster. He blinked hard, knowing how dark his irises were. Anyone could see their soul slipping away in them, if they were close enough. That's why he always looked down and pushed everyone away from him. Nico's eyes kept his soul, which was the true demon. He rubbed them and quickly changed into clothes he'd usually sleep in. He put his iPhone back under his pillow and shut off the light, leaving the room pitch black. He instantly fell asleep to the sound of owls hooting in the distance.
