Two girls rushed through the stairs of the Weeping Willow and made their way into a small building known as the shrieking shack. The two girls were thirteen-year-old witches, Haylie Potter and Hermione Granger. Haylie had red hair but had her father's hazel eyes. Hermione Granger had wavy, light brown hair and was wearing a simple pink hoody and jeans while Haylie was wearing a simple purple dress with black leggings and a dark blue jacket. She and Hermione were best friends now looking for their friend, Ron.

"Ron!" Haylie shouted. There was no response. Haylie and Hermione heard Ron's cries getting louder and louder. They raced up the steps and quickly ran to him. "Ron. You're okay."

"The dog. Where is it?" Hermione asked.

"It's a trap. He's the dog. He's an Animagus," Ron said. He pointed to where a man was standing, wearing rags. Haylie and Hermione saw that the man standing there was none other than Sirius Black, the man who betrayed Haylie's parents.

"If you want to kill Haylie, you have to kill us too!" Hermione shouted and came in between her best friend and Sirius Black.

"No. Only one will die tonight." Sirius said.

And it'll be you!" Haylie shouted. She grasped onto her godfather and threw him on the ground while also pointing her wand at him. Instead, Black laughed at his goddaughter's determination. She was so much like her parents, always umping to conclusions rather than finding answers.

"Are you going to kill me, Haylie?" he asked her.

"Haylie!" Lupin shouted at her. "Put the wand down before you do anything rash!"

The red-haired girl looked at the dark arts professor. Haylie quickly got up to join her friends. Lupin looked at Sirius and pointed his wand at him.

"Well, well, Sirius.

Looking rather ragged, aren't we?" said Lupin. "Finally, the flesh reflects the madness within."

"well, you'd know all about the madness within, wouldn't you?" Black told his old friend. Suddenly, Lupin helped Black up, confusing all the children, but Hermione was outraged more than the others were.

"No!" Hermione shouted. She pushed Haylie behind her. "I trusted you! And all this time, you've been his friend. He's a werewolf! That's why he's been missing classes."

Lupin looked at her curiously. "How long have you known?"

" Since Professor Snape set the essay." Hermione answered.

"Well, Hermione. You are one of the two brightest witch of your age I've ever met," he said, looking at both Haylie and Hermione.

"Enough talk, Remus!" Sirius yelled. "Come on, let's kill him! I did my waiting! Twelve years of it! In Azkaban!"

"Wait!" shouted Haylie. "What do you mean "him"?" she asked curiously.

"very well. Kill him. But wait one more minute. Haylie has the right to know why."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Haylie shouted. "You betrayed my parents."

"No, it wasn't him, Haylie," Lupin told the girl. "Somebody did betray your parents, somebody who, until quite recently, I believed to be dead!"

"Who was it, then?" Haylie snapped.

"Peter Pettigrew!" shouted Sirius. "And he's in this room! Right now! Come out, come out, Peter! Come out, come out and play!"

Suddenly, Snape came bursting into the room with his black wand stretched out. He came with the wand and flashed it in Sirius' direction, blasting the wand that Lupin handed Black at the beginning of the encounter.
