When we got back I was feeling better rested and was able to focus on more. I heard the great hall trying to convince hiccup to lead while Stoic was unconscious. He wasn't having it though. That night while we both looked over our father I looked at him. "I'm sorry for yelling Eira. I know you and Gothie are doing all you can. But this wouldn't have happened if I stayed on berk." He said softly, "Hiccup from what I've learned you would have done it all again in a heartbeat. And if you had never left I would have never found out I had a brother and a father still alive. And spitelout has some good points hiccup. Berk needs someone to look too while dad is out. It's not taking over completely just more of proving that when the time comes you can. He is strong but needs rest. Hiccup I know you will do fine you are basically chief of dragons edge and look at how it thrived!" I said softly. "Plus you won't be doing this alone. You have me and Gobber and all the others to help as well. Just think it over ok?" I said patting his arm before walking over to a bowl filled with water. "Eira. Thank you. Astrid was telling me the same thing but I guess I can try." Hiccup said standing to leave. I smiled at him before going back to dad. I started humming a tune I recalled from when I was little. "Valka?" I heard Gobber ask walking in. "Oh gobber no it's just me Eira." I said turning. "Lass you gave me a scare. That's a tune your mother used to sing to you and Hiccup before and after you were born. She said it kept you both calm." Gobber said. "It does. I don't remember why but it always stuck with me." I replied. "Go on and rest lass. I'll stay up with him." Gobber said and I nodded putting my bowl down and going over to my small nest of blankets that I made in the hut and slept.
