Chapter 15,
Deelana's POV
He is the best boyfriend I could ask for. He's more than a friend, but acts like a best friend. I know he would leap hurdles for me.
When he woke up, I offered to make pancakes at my house and he fell back asleep.
"Zack, wake up," I giggled and he swatted my arm and mumbled.
"No."
"I'm willing to make pancakes," I encourage and he turned on his side and started to snore. He's not snoring, he's just faking it! "What else do you want?" I chuckle and he turned back around and placed his thumb on my lip.
"You," he said and my heart leaped.
"You already have me."
"I guess I don't need anything else. Goodnight."
Nearly twenty minutes later, Zack forgets about a shirt before walking out of his bedroom. I hurried to put all my clothes on from yesterday and met up with him on the front lawn.
"Pancakes," I mention for the millionth time. I tried opening my front door, but it was locked. I rang the doorbell in hopes that my father was home. My hair and makeup must be a mess, and Zack has no shirt on.
"Who's this?" Dad noticed Zack. Zack held my palm nervously and I sucked in a deep breath.
"This is my boyfriend, Zack," I explain and practically cross my fingers.
"What happened to Jake?"
"We broke up weeks ago." Dad has never payed must attention to my love life, but his sudden interest in it makes my heart warm. "I'm making breakfast." I walk inside my home, tugging Zack's wrist.
"Where were you all night?" Dad asks and I ignore his question, reaching for the pancake mix in the pantry and a frying pan. I snagged the carton of milk and Zack sat down at the table. "Deelana!"
"I was out-"
"With him?" Dad scowls, ashamed.
"Why do you care?"
"Because you're my kid-"
"I'm an adult," I scream. I had not realized we had been yelling until Dad stopped.
"Have you forgotten your shirt?" Dad snaps at Zack and my father rolls his eyes. Zack chooses to ignore the question and my father paces back to the living room (probably typing away at his laptop...)
"Sorry."
"It's fine, Dee."
Zayn's POV
I turn on the small television that she has situated on her counter and the bright black letters came flashing across the screen: "Zayn Malik of One Direction in HIDING!" The lady began to speak and I held my breath...
"Zayn Malik's family has confirmed that he is in hiding. The question that the media is pressing further is: Where? The young fans chant his name over and over again outside of his million dollar London home, crying. There has been an endless amount of suicidal deaths over the notorious heartthrob that is living among us-" I unplug the television from the wall and Deelana sings along to a song that's playing on the radio (Ed Sheeran I suppose.) I don't think she noticed I had turned it on...
She finishes with the pancakes and her dad comes back for the food!
"I'm sorry," he spoke quietly and she chose to forgive him. There's no point in fighting with the only family she has -other than her mom- today.
