"Wake her up, we should head out." Okura's voice made me groan and open my eyes. I shivered, holding onto Darkfyre more so I could try to warm myself.

"I could've carried her; If you weren't so loud she could've slept a bit longer." Darkfyre snapped as his hand rubbed my back some.

"Dream on Darkie.." Okura sarcastically grinned and walked out of the cave with Lincoln beside her. I rubbed my eyes and looked up to Darkfyre, "Thank you for keeping me warm.." I yawned and gave in to a moment of weakness as I reached up and kissed his cheek before standing up and pulling my coat tighter around my body. Darkfyre stood up right behind me, "Not a problem. I'll be here if you need it again.." He gently nudged me and offered a smile as our hands somehow seemed to find themselves intertwining tightly and we followed closely behind Lincoln and Okura. Looking around, a soft layer of frosty snow started to blanket the Earth. It was thin, with holey patches of grass sticking through all over the place and dew droplets on the blades of green grass that had remained untouched by the frost.

"I haven't seen snow in so long.." I smiled as I looked around, "It's so beautiful.."

Darkfyre gazed at me and nodded, "Yes, it is."

When I looked over at him I couldn't help but start to laugh. White flurries of snow were falling into his black hair. He tried to look up but went a bit cross eyed which made me laugh more, "Here, let me get it.." I smiled and reached up, running my hand into his hair and watching the flurried wisp to the ground and for a moment, only a moment, I felt happy as if nothing bad had ever happened. As if the war that was waging inside me, that tore me between taking a chance in love or stepping away from it all, was gone.

"I missed that smile.." He whispered, stopping in his tracks and stopping me along with him. Then the war was back.

"Darkfyre..." I whispered but he simply shook his head and leaned over to kiss my cheek softly, "I'll give you your time." His eyes met mine briefly and we stood in silence until Okura broke it with a yell, "Keep up! We haven't got all day!"

After that Darkfyre let go of my hand and my heart sank, but my head was relieved. I wanted to stop him and tell him what I wanted but my mind kept telling me it was irrational and would end worse than it already had. Simply put, it was eating me inside and out.

"Guys!! Seriously, come look what Lincoln found!!" Okura happily jumped. Darkfyre nodded to me and walked her way. I sat there for a moment, at least two minutes, and then went after them. Okura and Darkfyre were talking and Lincoln was just standing there, listening but not saying a word. They stood on a path, made of a roughly cut, old brick that was worn and cracked.

"I wonder where it leads to.." Okura giggled, "He is great isn't he?! I told you killing him would be unwise. He may have just saved our asses." I narrowed my eyes at her complimenting him and went forward to join the three of them.

"Lilith, look!!" Okura squealed when I made it to her side. I gave a fake smile and kicked my foot over it, "It seems old.." I muttered quietly.

"So?? What if it leads to a safe haven. Or a small town.." Okura jumped on me in delight. I squealed and tumbled over, whining as her weight crushed me into the brick surface and as the snow that rested on top was chilling my body and sucking out any heat that my body had managed to store up.

"Okay, that's enough. Let's finish what we started.." Darkfyre groaned and gently used his foot to roll Okura off my body.

"OSHHHHH" Okura cried out at the snow against her neck. I laughed and hauled myself up.

"Ohhhhh. Darkie, I swear you'll regret that!!" She huffed like a temperamental child who didn't get the toy that they wanted for Christmas.

"Hmm. I doubt that." Darkfyre growled, "Darkie!! Is not my name!!"
