The First Day

My name is Victoria. I am about to start what is probably going to be one of the most horrible years of high school--junior year. My summer, most of which was spent doing fun stuff with my best friend Zoey, was ending.

It was the first day of school, and I was definitely not ready. I texted Zoey and proceeded to get ready. I have always hated the first day of school. Mostly because everyone tries so hard to impress other people and it never works out very well.

I started by choosing my outfit. I pulled on my new short white skirt and a dark shirt to go with. I curled my long, medium brown hair and put a flower in it. Putting on my favorite pair of sandals. I grabbed my bag and headed out the door.

My car was out of gas, so Zoey picked me up.

"Hey Vic. Hurry up or we're gonna be late!" she shouted to me. I got in her car and we drove to school.

When we finally arrived, we were met with several greetings, along with a few dirty looks as we walked through the front doors.

We found our way to our lockers so we could start prettying them up with pictures and stuff. Our lockers were 7 and 8. I opened mine up and immediately stuck a picture of my crush to the door. Matthew Espinosa.

Matthew was a very famous viner, who I knew I would never meet. Millions of girls are obsessed with him, and I was just one of many. Zoey put up a picture of Hayes Grier, her vine crush. We are both very obsessed, and not ashamed to show it.

First period rolled around. Zoey and I had chemistry together. We went over the rules for the entire class period, and the same applied for the rest of my classes, until the day was over.

I met Zoey outside so we could drive home.

"Well," she sighed, "I guess that was about as awful as the first day every year."

I nodded and strapped on my seatbelt. "I just can't wait until we get to the fun part of junior year."

Zoey gave me a sarcastic look. "And when does THAT start?"

I shrugged, and we rode to my house in silence.
