Jia Ne positioned herself in front of him firmly and gave a bleak smile.

"Hey mister. Are you okay?" She initially just wants this fuss be over with but since the other party was not cooperative enough to answer her questions, she decided to give him a push. She raised her dainty hand to pat his shoulder lightly hoping to bring him back to reality.

Her expression was solemn and waited for a few more minutes in that crouching position but there was still no response from him. She tried patting him again but then suddenly she felt a stinging pain on her hand. She was caught off guard by his sudden reaction and was left speechless.

'Ouch. Is there a need for exaggeration? Why is there a need to hit my hand harshly like I am spreading an epidemic for his fear to get the virus? I am the real victim here in the first place but I have to bow down to him to suffice my narcissistic cousin's desire. Can't be cautious against this guy in the least? He is not only a molester. He's very capable of domestic violence as well. I am sure he's an authentic pedophile too!'

No longer able to hold her rage in, she decided to let things be and not pursue this senseless matter. She's at a disadvantage no matter how she tried to redeem herself from the situation so why drag it a little longer?

She immediately stood up and patted the specks of dirt off her skirt ready to go. However, she thought that she should get a quick glance at her enemy again so she paused for a while. This time, their gazes locked onto one another.

Looking at that deep hazelnut eyes and his overall features, her cold expression softened quite a bit until...

"Will..." he silently muttered.

Jia Ne raised a brow waiting for him to complete what he was trying to say.

"Will.... You... take r-r..." his pale face flushed in an instant.

"R-responsibility of what you have done to my hand?"

Hearing the very first sentence he uttered in the entire incident, although his deep and melodious voice is pleasant to the ear, her impression of him sank to the very bottom sea level.

She stood there frozen not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

'The heck with this. Who's taking responsibility of who? Did I ever commit an evil deed in my previous life? Why did it come to this?'

The corners of her mouth twitched as she stood there rooted on the ground. She felt stabbed a million times. It was like she was being cursed for being an evil witch in her past life and now this was her tribulation.

Cold sweat ran down her back as she involuntarily made a half-step backward. She once again tried to compose herself to appear gentle and innocent devoid of the corruption in this world. After a few breaths she started explaining herself to him. They talked for a while and thought that they have come to an understanding and let bygones be bygones. However, it turns out that she was still taking on the blame on nosing herself on someone else's business.

It was all just a misunderstanding and she is completely innocent but can't talk her way out of their logic. About his hand, she doesn't really care about it. He can just wash it later or try drinking alcohol to disinfect himself inside and out.

Jia Ne smiled at him like a dog and tried to bury her horns and tail to keep up with her act to end her misery.

'What's he acting innocent for? I am the one who's innocent here! Where's the logic of this world? How cruel!'

She tried pulling her little cousin's arm to escape that horrible fate. It will be the perfect time to leave now before she implodes and cannot help herself but skin him alive.

"Big sister, you forgot something."

"?" She paused and mechanically turned her head to look at the little devil. What's this little devil up to this time?

The little devil pouted her lips and faced her "Big Brother" to act cute like an angel.

"Y-you forgot to compensate Big Brother for what you have done. Right, Gege?" She looked deeply into Ji Chen's eyes full of expectations hoping that he will stay by her side longer.

Ji Chen was dumbstruck with the turn of event.

Looks left.

Looks right while pointing at himself.

"Me?"

The little devil nodded and started to look pitiful.

He thought for a bit and then let the little girl do as she pleases.

The little devil looked so delighted and felt so proud of her acting skills that it seems her pitiful look earlier was an illusion. She hastily turned to Jia Ne and an evil laugh escaped from her mouth.

She coughed up lightly to erase her sinister grin like thin air and locked her gaze at Jia Ne.

"Since it's Big Sister Jia Ne's fault, you must take your responsibility this instance and treat us to dinner."
