Chap 6

Tati's POV (Next Day At School)

"Hey," I said walking up to Alexis at her locker. "Are we meeting up for lunch?"

"I can't," said Alexis.

"Why?" I asked. "We're standing out, where what we want." I looked at Alexis. "I'm wearing skinny jeans, converse knee high high tops, and this red crop top with a red lace over lay because it's me. You're wearing a black skater skirt, black high top wedges, and a white vneck tee with a red heart necklace because it's you." I sighed. "Why can't we hang at lunch?"

"Blake asked me to eat lunch," said Alexis. "We got together last night."

"Okay," I said. My phone vibrated and I looked at my phone. "Drew just asked me to lunch."

"Say yes," said Alexis as she held her books in her left hand and closed the locker. She looked at her phone in her right hand. "So, I'll see you after school?"

"Sure, by the fountain," I said. Avery started walking toward us. "Speak of the devil."

"Well, well, well," said Avery with her groupie of Veronica and Bridget. "Don't you think you're a little too old to play dress up?" I sighed. "This isn't you."

"I'm more me than I will ever be," I said.

"Tatiyana, let it go. It's not worth it. She can't relate to us even if she wanted to," said Alexis. "Only because she's a fake. That infinity ring, she says it's from Tiffany, it's a fake."

"How would you know that?" asked Veronica.

"Because this one is real," said Alexis as she showed us her finger. "Trust me. Her hair, fake. They're just extensions." Avery was getting angry. "I'm telling you, I'm real. Tati and I are hundred percent real unlike some people. Let's go, Tatiyana."

We turned around and there was Blake and Drew. "Oh no," I said.

"Let's go," Drew said grabbing my hand.

"Same with you," said Blake grabbing Alexis' hand.

"We were defending ourselves," said Alexis.

"When we joined Defeat The Label, we were hoping to let the comments roll off your back," said Drew.

"We did but if we keep doing that Avery is going to keep commenting until we say something," I said. "It was either we do something about it now or we wait for it to get worse."

"We do it now," said Alexis. "Strike before they strike."

"Avery did strike first," I said.

"She already declared war," said Alexis. "I fought back and I won."

She walked off. "I should get to calculous," I said. "I'll see you at lunch Drew." I gave him a kiss on the cheek and walked off. "Oh! We aren't even together. Why did I do that? We'll talk about it at lunch."

Drew's POV (Lunch)

I found Tatiyana and sat down next to her. "Uhm, Tatiyana, I have a question," I said.

"I don't know why I did it," said Tatiyana. "Force of habit, I guess."

She didn't even look me straight in the eye. "Let me tell you something," I said looking at her. "You like me."

"You got all that from what I just said?" asked Tatiyana.

"You didn't look at me when you said what you said," I said. "Trust me on that."

"Well, she can play dress up all she wants but she'll never be one of us," said Avery.

"Just leave us alone," I said.

"First the basketball captian and now another hot guy in the school?" asked Avery. "Typical brainwashing powers you have there."

"I'm not brainwashing anybody," said Tatiyana.

"Back of Avery," I said.

"You can't be really falling for nerd girl, can you?" asked Avery.

"Tati, Blake and I were thinking, do you and Drew wanna have a double date tonight?" asked Alexis. She saw Avery. "Oh, it's you."

"Blake, you can't be falling for her can you?" asked Avery. "You're the captain of the varsity dance team. You're really going to fall for someone who is at the bottom of the social chain?"

"I choose to see the good in people and Alexis is an amazing person. A smart girl with a sense of style that is her own," said Blake. "Oh, and speaking of the varsity dance team, Alexis tried out and made it. She's been voted as co-captain."

"OMG, serious?" asked Tatiyana.

"Yeah," said Alexis smiling.

"Oh great, the nerds are taking over my social groups," said Avery.

"You're social groups?" I asked. "Last I checked, we were our own people." I looked at Alexis. "Alexis, about that date, sure."

"Meet at my place, tonight," said Alexis.

"Alright," I said. Alexis and Blake left. "Avery, if you'll excuse us, we have things to talk about." It was time for classes to start after lunch. I went through school wondering what Alexis had planned for our double date. After school, I went over to Tatiyana's. I knocked. "Come on." Her mother opened the door. "Hi. Mrs. Lima, I'm looking for Tatiyana."

"Here," said Tatiyana as she slung her bag over her shoulder. "I'm ready."

"What happened to TC?" asked her mom.

"Mom, TC and I weren't really working out," said Tatiyana. "It's been months. I'm with Drew now."

"I'll take care of her," I said.

"You're also spending the night at Alexis'?" asked her mom.

"You know Alexis and her parents," said Tatiyana. "I'll be back when her parents get back."

"You kids have fun," said her mom

"Bye Mom," said Tatiyana as she closed the door behind her. "Let's go hang with Alexis and Blake."

"I wanna know what movies she plans on making us watch," I said.
