I was hanging out with Leslie in my dream and uh we were like in a field, right, and she asks me a random question and it was "hey do you wanna come swim in the lake?" And I was like ehhh sure why not
And so we walk to the edge of the field and we come to these big wooden stair and like each stair is like 2 feet tall and I was kinda like uhhhh Leslie i think these are a little too tall...
But we climb them, right? And we get to the top and the top couple of step are soaking wet with this water that's like tinted lavender, and I'm kinda like wtf okaaay, and the very top step is loose. So I'm kinda like straddling the top step so it won't move under Leslie and there are these huge (like the size of my arms around) branches
And Leslie calls them the pie tree
And she's like okay so I'm going to swim to the tree in the middle (which I hadn't noticed there was one but obviously now there was) and I was like alright but uh imma stay here bc nope
And so she swims about halfway there when I notice this big wooden and electric fence at an edge of the lake; I can see something moving
*(OK do you remember watching the Alice In Wonderland movie the new one with Johnny Depp in it? Ok well the Bandersnatch animal thing? The one that kind of looked like a big ass cat with something sinister about it?)* Well the animal behind that fence looked like an antelope version of that if that makes any sense like uhhhhhh NoPe thanks nope
I saw that there were more than one and I kind of was like ok imma call Leslie
And I look to find her in the water, just about to dive under for something. "Leslie I think it's time to head home" I yelled across the water, but she still went under and came up a few seconds later, holding something I couldn't make out from this distance.
She looked around to see why I was like ehhh leggo, and she made eye contact with one of the antelope things. She swam back to me, swimming as fast as she could. When she reached me, she grabbed the top step, swinging it and making me fall in. I clutched to one of the Pie tree's root for dear life because the current was strong. Leslie reached for me and I grabbed her hand but something had caught my foot.
I reached under to unhook whatever it was from my foot and it came off in my hand. I pulled myself up onto the step and then held out the thing to Leslie. It seemed to be a very small flower. She smiled and held what she's grabbed from the tree up for my examination and I laughed.
It was the same thing. I was slightly taken aback when she took a bite out of the petal. She smiled at me and motioned for me to do the same. I did, and to my surprise, the little flower tasted like a little mint cheesecake. I took my flower and Leslie and I made our way slowly down the steps and then back to the field.
We got back to the bottom and I could now tell that the fence that I'd seen extended down to an edge of the clearing as well and then it sharply turned a corner and went back up the way it came. At that corner there were beady eyes watching us through the fence and I stared back, wondering what it was. Suddenly there was a loud banging noise. One of the animals had thrown itself against the fence, trying to escape. I flinched and I took a few step back
These animals, no matter what kind, were huge. They could kill and eat us in one bite. The animal tried again and from here I could hear the wood groaning against the force
I had no doubt that if it tried again that animal was getting out. I turned around to ask Leslie what to do, but she was gone. In her place was you. I was rather confused, but I was like okay, what do we do..? And you just smiled at me and said
"The Bendersnootch are to be free once again to roam the land. We were stupid to think they'd say locked up." And I was kind of scared by then. Another resonating thud sounded and I heard the wood splinter and shatter. I flinched and ran. I could now see the whole thing's face trough the whole
It was vaguely male and the mane on it was smoothed back like a 80's greaser or something. I sprinted back to the lake and began swimming to the tree. I heard a loud crash and a feminine scream
(tbh I think it ate you...)
And I swam harder, determined to get to the damn tree
I reached the bank of the tiny island and I pulled myself up into the tree where the flowers were a thousand shapes, sizes, colors, and smells. I climbed the tree and climbed and climbed and climbed until I was at the very top, which was very high. Several of the Bendersnootch were circling the lake, pawing at the lavender water and hissing. I began to shake and held on to the nearest branch for support
The branch swayed and it groaned a little at my weight and I immediately took my hand off it.
I lost my balance and fell, fell into the purple water.
And that's where I woke up freaking out and crying. Ayeee.
