If you look up awkward in the dictionary, you will find my name....nothing else, just my name. I'm a homeschooler, so I'm supposed to be awkward, right? I know what you're thinking. Do you even have a social life??!! And the answer to that question is....FOR HEAVENS SAKE, YES I HAVE A SOCIAL LIFE!!!!!......ok sorry maybe that was a little to dramatic. To be fair though it is the most hated and *roll your eyes* question for a homeschooler. I do go to a co-op once a week though sooooo happy? Anyway, back to why I'm feeling the definition of awkward at the moment. I have never EVER slept in one of my co-op classes, so when I wake up to my best friend Cici shaking my shoulder I make a high pitched sound that sounds like a mouse, only like a bazillion times louder. The entire class looks toward me and I hurriedly say,

"I am soooo sorry! I did not mean to disturb the class......I....I..." oh forget it. I say to myself. I'm red as a...well I'm just about as red as can be. You know what? Whatever red you're thinking right now I'm redder. What's even worse is that my heaviest book decides at that moment to fall of the table. A few of the guys grin and I hear giggling as I bend down to pick up my book. As I place it quietly on the table I find Cici looking at me with an apologetic look that says 'I'm sorry.' I smile weakly back at her and mentally slap myself....I tend to do that a lot.

Finally the day ends, but just as I'm about to open the door to my car I get tackled into a smothering hug and shoved back against my car. I turn around in the arms to find Cici hugging me viciously. I smile and wrap my arms around her smaller frame. Behind her stands Cortlen Jones, her brother. He is clearly annoyed. For a good reason too for they were supposed to leave 15 minuets ago. Cici's brown eyes look up into mine before asking,

"Are you ok?" I smile back down at her and let myself be jealous of her long, waist length, dark brown hair before answering her question.

"Yes I'm ok. I fell asleep and embarrassed myself in class today." I sigh, directing the last part of what I said to Cortlen who, until than had been looking blank and confused about the whole thing. He smirked in amusement but quickly lost it the moment his sister gave him the death glare.

"Come on. Mom is going to have our heads if we end up being later than we already are." Cortlen said trying to pull Cici away from me.

"She won't have anybody's head if she knows it's about Evi here." She retorted with a knowing and triumphal smile. I grin at the nickname that Cortlen actually cane up with. Their whole family has this thing for nicknames....so that's mine. Cortlen looks at her with frustration than at me with eyes that said, 'this is your fault.' I shrugged, smiling weakly and apologetically before giving Cici one last hug, (I know we are soooo touchy feely...sorry) waving to Cortlen and getting into the safety of my car. As I drive home I go over the events of the day. What interactions I've had, the homework for next week, how nice Cortlen looked today, and h....WAIT! What in heavens name was I thinking about??? How Cortlen freaken looked today??!!!! I stop the car at the end of my quarter of a mile long driveway and think back. He has short brown hair, behind his glasses were hazel eyes, and he had been wearing a plaid shirt with jeans and boots.....that's how he almost always looked. So why did he look nice today? I'm confusing myself...I jump out of the car, grab the mail, and head all the way up to the garage not in the least expecting the shock I was about to receive. As I walked inside I found myself getting tackled against the wall and something piercing the side of my throat.

"What the heck! Get off of me!" I yell pushing whoever it was off of me. I stared at the stranger on the floor in front of me than at the glares of my family members in the living room. What is going on? I question myself as I slowly stand up. The man in front of me also stands up, giving me a menacing smile.

"Welcome home." He says no a hint of warmth in his voice whatsoever.

"What do you want, why are you in my house, and what's wrong with them?" I question gesturing toward my family in the living room.

"Ah yes. I am a hypnotist and I've hypnotized your family into hating you." He says quite casually. I glare at him and rub my neck to find a bump where he had stuck a sharp object a moment before.

"What did you do to my neck?" Was my next question.

"Dear me so many questions. Well I suppose I will answer that one at least. What I did to your neck. Ah yes. I put an electronic device into it, more specifically, a shocking device. Anytime you will try to tell someone about the problem you now have I will zap you, and quite painfully might I add. Oh one more thing before I go. They are hypnotized because you turned my daughter into something...into someone she wasn't supposed to become." He quickly left, leaving me to stand there in shock before I made my way downstairs to my sister and I's bedroom. I opened my computer to my email and found one from someone I didn't recognize the name of. I opened it and took in a sharp intake of breath as I realized who it was from. I jumped up and ran outside yelling.

"Help my family's been hy..."ZAP! Ouch! I gasped and fell to the ground withering in pain. Okay so maybe I had just disregarded the instructions of a complete psychopath. After a few minutes I finally got up as the pain faded away. I walked back inside opened up the email again, and shaking like a leaf I started to read. I see you have found the email dear one....
