chapter 1: All That's Good Is Gone

It was second period, social studies, we were learning about the geography of Georgia when all of a sudden the principal went on the intercom "Ladies and gentlemen you are going to go home early and there will be no school for the rest of the year have a safe day and stay in your homes." He said with a worried/ panicked voice.

I knew there was something seriously wrong. One second after the principal stoped talking everyone was cheering, and were shouting "Yes I don't have to worry about homework or tests for a year." Everyone was saying except me.

"Yeah sure you don't have to worry about that but you might have to worry about something else." I said yelling so everyone can hear me.  "What do you mean." Said this one kid that literally everyone praises except me.

"Are you actually that stupid did you hear what he said." I said. "Are you actually be for real right now like anyone listens to half what he says." Said the kid with the haircut that looks like shaggy from Scooby-Doo. "Yeah you missed half of his speech let me recite what he said. Have a SAFE day and STAY in your homes." I said trying to not hate him as much as I already do also the amount of hate I have for him is as much as I never bothered to remember his name I just kept calling him shaggy for 6 years now.

"Who cares what he said I'm free." Shaggy said with a smirk on his face. "If something life threatening is going on I hope you die first." After I said that everyone was like ohhh and I was like don't act like you all were going to die to.

So after second period come to find out we are leaving earlier then everyone expected.
So while I was waiting I found one of my best friends her names Anna and she again is my best friend since 1st grade but also my neighbor. And we were talking for a bit then she said something that caught my eye "I'm scared did you hear what the principal said." She said. "Yeah I did." I said. After five mins her mom picked her up.

Then for me I was waiting for three hours till someone showed up, Wait my brother. Hunter, my brother he is in the 8th grade like me but a little bit older like Anna they didn't fit the cutoff so they are in the same grade as me. He got checked out earlier for a doctors appointment when I saw him I was honestly shocked. 

"What are you doing here where's mom and dad." I said

"Nova I need to talk to you about something." He said with his voice cracking ( it only does that when he is nervous).

"What, where's mom and dad Hunter." I said while my palms are sweating like crazy.

"Dad is dead and mom left us." He said.

"What, why, what, wh- what happened?!"

"Walkers."
