Dean coughed weakly, causing Cas to frown.
"Dean—"
"I'm... fine, Cas," Dean said between coughs. Cas sighed frustratedly.
"Obviously, you're not 'fine.' I have been monitoring your condition and it has only worsened. If you'd just let me take you to the doctor—"
"No, Cas, don't," Dean wheezed, moving Cas' hand away from his forehead, though he took comfort in Cas' cool touch against his palm. Dean had somehow caught the flu, though he guessed it was probably because he took an unexpected swim in a lake late at night for a hunt.
Truth be told, Dean looked terrible. His skin was pale and sweaty, and his normally bright green eyes were dull and unfocused. Cas felt terrible for not being able to heal him, as he was still without his grace, but Dean had insisted that he was fine and that Cas had nothing to be sorry about.
"Then what can I do to help you?" Cas asked.
"Just... stay with me," Dean mumbled, slowly drifting asleep. Despite his worries, Cas smiled gently and kissed Dean's forehead.
"Always, Dean. I'll always be with you."
