Jellybean POV
I watched my older brother walk out of my room and slam the door behind him. I locked it behind him. I felt sick. Why the hell would he think I was having sex? What gave him that idea? I sat on my bed. I had literally had one of the best nights of my life and Jughead ruined it. I sat there for minutes. I didn't want to do anything. There was a knock on my door. "Jellybean? It's me." Dad said softly. "I'm busy." I called back. That was a lie. I wasn't doing anything. I heard him try the door."Jellybean. Unlock it." He said firmly. I didn't respond. "Unlock the door, I'm worried about you." He said, his tone sounded serious. "Forsythia! Unlock the door right now." He said, his voice louder than before. "Don't call me that!" I shouted, memories of Toledo flooding into my mind. He tried to open the door once more before giving up. I guess he wasn't 'worried' about Jughead as he didn't even try to talk to him. I was starting to get overwhelmed.
"Damn it. Please no." I muttered under my breath as I felt an anxiety attack threatening to come on. I shook my head. I jumped at the sound of a notification on my phone. It was a text from Adelaide. I smiled and was instantly distracted. Hey Girl. Or should I saw Girlfriend? <3. You told anyone yet? I don't plan on it anytime soon. xox I blushed after reading the message three times through, I finally responded. Either is good with me ;). I haven't told anyone yet and I also don't plan too. My brother is uncharacteristically acting like a total dick though, so any chance of him knowing is shot. xxx I hit send.
I grinned at my phone and waited for another message. We continued to message each other until late that night. You could even say early the next morning. I was filled with joy. I couldn't get to sleep though. Now that Adelaide, I was going to start calling her Adi, had went to bed, I was once again lost in thought. When the next morning finally came, I got up and left without Jughead. We could figure it out.
Jughead POV
When I got up the next morning, Jellybean had already left. Not that we were on speaking terms yet, but that was shallow. Part way through the day she texted me that there was no need to pick her up. That hurt. I didn't understand this fight. I truly didn't. I, at least, had reasoning behind it. When she had came home so happy from the dance, I wondered if she had maybe met a boy. Then I thought about how she said I wouldn't know who she was meeting at Pop's and well, one thought led to another and I couldn't help but wonder. I just wanted to know that my little sister wasn't going to get herself knocked up at thirteen. I didn't think I was being unreasonable. Our fight, or argument, whatever the hell you want to call it was still not resolved on Thursday. I sighed as I got up that morning. There was this new girl named Soleil, I think, and was she ever annoying. She just didn't know when to stop. She had gotten here a while back and I just wanted her to leave. So when she approached me at the end of the day I was not pleased. "Hey Jughead!" I heard her call from somewhere behind me. I whipped around to face her. I didn't speak.
"Your little sister is Jellybean, right?" She asked. There was a slight tone in her voice that worried me. "Uh...yeah." I said confusedly. Soleil smiled a small, but cocky smile. "Yeah, it's funny our sisters are dating, don't you think?" She paused. I was shocked. I didn't speak. "Oh, you didn't know? I thought you guys were close." She said before turning on her heel and walking out of the school. I stood there, frozen. My baby sister had a girlfriend? And she didn't tell me. "Holy shit." I muttered. "Holy shit." I walked out of the school, desperate to find Soleil. Desperate to ask her about this.
I stepped out of the school in a daze. I didn't see her anywhere. I took a quick, sharp breath and started to rush home. I threw open the door and saw Jellybean on the couch. I could see Dad in his room. "My room. Now." I said coldly, dropping my back pack. She didn't move. I leaned in close to her. "My room. Now. Or I'll tell Dad you have a girlfriend." I whispered. She got up.
